“McCutcheon and Kennard have made a run for it” He almost screams at her.

2 other care assistants’ follow him out into the car park.

“Spread out” He orders. The two care assistance go to search the back of the building while he takes the front. He reaches the car park when he sees Shane standing at the end of the road, on the other side of the fence. She sees him and flips him the finger.

“Got you” She smiles unlocking his car, he starts the engine when he realises something is wrong. When he gets out he sees all his tires have been slit.

“Shit” He yells kicking the front tire. He looks up again and starts to run where he last saw Shane but stops when he sees she’s gone. “Mother fuckers” He grunts.

Alex and Shane continued to run for another 20 minutes convinced someone was following them, they finally stop when they reach the railway station.

“We did it” Shane screams happily.

“We really did” Alex hugs her tightly.

“What now?” Shane asks looking round as a fleet train pulls up at the stop.

“This is when we start to finally live” Alex shouts running to one of the carriages. She slides the door open and throws her bag inside.

“Where does it go?” Shane asks looking around for some sort of sign.

“Who cares?” Shane smiles broadly grabbing Alex hand, climbing inside. This was the start of their big adventure or so they thought.

The next day.

“Hello, I’m here to collect Alex Kennard” Tina smiles broadly, she had dreamed of this day and couldn’t believe it was finally happening.

“Miss Kennard would you like to step into my office” The women says sadly, Tina sees the sadness and worry in the woman’s eyes before she follows her. She takes a seat in the office bracing herself for the worst.

“I’m afraid last night, Alex and another girl ran away from the home”

“What?” Tina says shocked.

“When one of our carers went to check on them last night they had broken their window and climb out”

“Do you know where they are now?” Tina says worriedly.

“We have informed the local authorities and they are all on the look of for your sister”

“Oh Alex” Tina heaved a sad sigh.

“I’m sorry Miss Kennard” The woman says before Tina breaks down.
