The Long and Winding Road – chp 12

“We cannot join them Helena – they are obviously having a very serious talk “

Tina hissed at Helena as they made their way through the lunchtime crowd.

“We have no option Tina – it would be rude and there is no free tables – we are all friends together anyway – you’ve known Alice for years “

    “Hey there – I hope we’re not interrupting “

Alice smiled “No – its fine – its good to see you both “

Tina hugged Lara and stroked the young woman’s hair.

“How are you holding up ? “

“Bad – like Alice – we miss her “

“Nothing that anyone can say will ease that pain – not for a long time “ Tina said softly.

“I got a copy of the poem that Bette read at the ceremony – it really helps sometimes – I try to remember all the good things about her – all the things that made me laugh. “

“That’s the best thing to do sweetie – try and hold onto the good times that you shared with her. “

“We had such plans – its awful that I cannot tell her these little every day things. “

Tina nodded and sat down beside Lara. She and Bette had talked about their time apart and they had both agreed that it was the weirdest things that set them off thinking about their past life together. For Tina it had been supermarket shopping – shopping for food with that well known culinary snob Bette Porter had been one of the most hilarious things ever. Bette would turn her cultured nose up at items that Tina loved – like chocolate spread and peanut butter. Tina had remembered the disgust in Bette’s voice when Tina had asked if she had any tomato ketchup. But as their relationship had turned into the loving one that it had Bette had always made sure that Tina got her “junk “.

Tina wondered if any of the others had any idea what was happening between her and Bette. She had expected Shane to pick up the signals but if she had she was keeping it to herself as usual. Tina was finding it hard to hide her feelings. When she had walked into the Planet with Helena the day before Bette had looked so tired but gorgeous – Tina had successfully managed to fight the urge to pull her ex wife into her lap and cuddle her as close as possible while kissing away all the aches she was visibly suffering.

    1. Hey Ally, you´re mean! Hehehe! I wanna read chap. 13 soon. Its good to have some tension too. I really like it. Huh, maybe the “drama queen” is for that? ;) Sorry about you manager. :(

    2. You are so cruel to leave us hanging like this. Somehow this does fit they way Bette and Tina are. I can not wait for your next post. Beautiful and great writting!!!! Love it.

    3. Just because you’re pissed off you have a new manager, doesn’t mean you have to take it out on your stories!! You are so bad!! And I bet you are sat there, reading these comments rubbing your hands together – I refuse to rise to your dangling carrot!!!!!

    4. Wow thats one way to Ramp up the drama! Sorry to hear about the boss situation – keep your head down & be indispensible – its only a job & they pay you for it!Holding my breath until next chapter – don’t make me show David Blaine how its done!

    5. Ally, just work your charm on the old bat and you’ll have her eating out of your hand in no time. What Bette had to say was most worrisome. Can you save the baby, Dr. Emmerson?

    6. Ally, please let this just be a small bump in the road and bring us all to beautiful happiness that Tina and Bette truly deserve. Thanks for a great chapter! *smiles*

    7. Oh, Drama, please don’t let anything happen to Bette or the baby, okay. Sorry you have a new, old bat for a manager. Maybe, it will be okay. Now Tina and Bette will reveal that they have been together all this while, I guess. waiting for the next chapter.

    8. So sorry to hear about the mangager from hell, hopefully it will work out. And, so cannot believe you’ve left us hanging like that. Please, and I mean pretty please with sugar on top, do not let anything be wrong with Bette or the Baby. It may be time to blow there cover though. You know we your trusting fans are counting on you to hold our B&T together.

    9. Oh Damn Ally, please do not let anything happen to the baby. I don’t think that either Bette or Tina will be able to handle another lose of a child. Six months is a little early, but he may be able to survive if he is taken early. It would be better if he is able to stay inside of his momma a little longer. I am sorry to hear about the wicked witch of west becoming your boss. I have had a few of those. Okay, maybe it was me that was the wicked witch of the west. Oh well, I just hope that you will be able to survive. You always can vent here or at me.

    10. Ally – you are awesome and I appreciate that you write even when the work world treats you bad. this cliff hanger is super but please don;t let anything happen to this little one. I hope the inspiration for the Lwing returns at least to bring it to a great conclusion.

    11. How cruel to keep us hanging like that!!! You’ve got me hooked on this story almost as much as L-Wing, which by the way I’m in desperate need of an update!!!

    12. Ally, if you care anything about us, please don’t let anything happen to Bette or her baby. She didn’t stay away for 2 years, 2 years of getting her life back together, only to have it torn completely apart………….again. We’ve already endured the lose of a child and what it had done to the both of them; history cannot repeat itself in such an ugly fashion.

    13. Damn I though they are happy now and no more drama. Please don’t let anything happen to Bette and the baby, dont let they loose the baby. Ok post soon please, thanks!

    14. The formatting is weird lately so no worries that this was only a page. Hmmmmm HOLY CRAP can you say drama? Sorry you’re getting a crappy manager at work. :(

    15. Hey Ally, Sorry to hear about the new manager. :( And it was naughty of you to leave us on a cliffy! ^_^ What’s up with Bette… hope the baby’s gonna be ok. Love this story. Please post soon.

    16. hey cool i’m the first to post…man i sense trouble ahead huh? I’m so hooked on this story as well as the L-Wing…which by the way i’m having withdrawals from…wanna hook a junkie up with a fix?

    17. BAD, BAD, BAD Ally. Great cliffhanger babe. I wonder what is going on with Bette. Oh I forgot—this time I do know what happens next—Hee Hee! I just love this story!

    18. At first I was like, shucks! only 1 page? But then I read your comments about cruella de’ville and understood the 1-page-mood. But ending it the way you did? That’s witchy! :) As for 13 and being unlucky? Nope! I was born on the 13th! and let me tell you I have been lucky all my life!

    19. Ally, the good Brit whose stories we love.. this is not good at all.(do I have too big a mouth?)Are thoughts of the”old bat” in your face leading you where I think you might be going? Go have a beer( or 2.) Sue

    20. Aaargh! You can’t stop there! Don’t do this to us. I will be up most of the night writing an essay and I won’t be able to concentrate so please post again. *Does puppy dog eyes* please? Great chapter by the way and sorry to hear about your new manager

    21. No no, this is not funny and what is this about a writers block. Forget the manager, she´s probably straight and miserable. Looking out for this story tomorrow . . and hopefully L-Wing soon. I´m addicted.

    22. Yes, Ally, you’re definitely very, very bad to leave us hanging like that… I guess I’ll have to re-consider marrying you.. Anyway, as much as I like this story, I think you definitely should try to stop your The L Wing block somehow, I won’t survive if you stop writing it, I adore that story.

    23. Great Ally, this story rocks. You can always sabotage the bat’s broomstick so she’s crashing the wall. Hope this one helps to ease your writer’s block away.
