    Chapter 17

    “Thank you Al”

    “Now stick the kettle on, I’m dying for a cuppa” Al added in what she thought was a credible English accent.

    Tina bounded downstairs wrapped in only a towel, she could have sworn she heard Al’s voice from upstairs. “Whoaa” she stopped just to briefly check her surroundings satisfied that yes she was still in the same house she was in when she went upstairs “What the hell are you lot doing here”

    “TK” Al raced towards Tina and hugged her tightly, while Tina clutched the top of her towel “Helena and I are getting hitched and we wanted you to be the first to know” Al announced

    “What” Tina said shaking her head, this was all too much to take in

    “Hello Tina” Helena greeted “I’m afraid your friend is completely delusional, more than I thought possible even for her”

    “What” Tina repeated

    “Al has been proposing to Helena since she stepped foot on her jet and Al refuses to take no for an answer” Shane said trying to clear up Tina’s confusion.

    “Tell her TK, love is so overrated” Al began “And besides she will always wonder if the person who takes her on is only in it for her cash, whereas at least with me she will know I’m only doing her for diamonds and pearls”

    Tina shook her head even for Al this was crazy, still clutching her towel she wrapped her free arm around Bette’s waist who had slipped by her side, she rested her head on her shoulder “Is this really happening” she asked

    “It would appear so” Bette replied

    “Just say the word and I’ll boot their ass’s out of here”

    Bette kissed the top of Tina’s head “Their here now, I guess were stuck with them, however I would be a lot more comfortable if you went and put some clothes on”

    “Right” Tina said “And you behave yourself” she added towards Al before retreating back upstairs.

    “Chop, chop Porter my mouths dryer than an Arabs flip flop” Al demanded

    Bette paused in the doorway of the kitchen at the sound of the uproarious laughter coming from the girls, she turned to find Al sitting on Helena’s lap showering her face with kisses, poor Helena was trying desperately to escape Al’s clutches. She found herself laughing along with them when with one determined push from Helena, Al landed on her ass, defiantly claiming she loved a girl who played hard to get.

    7. My dear Skimmy, I loved the chapter. It’s nice to know that Kit and Maxine didn’t completely give up on Bette, and that Kit’s thinking of Bette’s well-being when she refuses to contact her. After all, if Bette hadn’t checked Melvin’s study, she would have never known and it would have been hard to hear the whole thing from Kit. I hope aunt Patty lets Kit know that Bette knows. I’m sure Kit will step up to the plate then. Also, I know I owe you a reply and some thanks, but I’ve been swamped. Thanks, buddy!
