The Gathering 01.64 – The Gathering ReDux – Pt. 12

“Thanks.”  He said, looking at it, his finger tracing the outline of his son.  He wouldn’t have known what to do if he’d lost him.

“So how is the party planning going?”  Sam asked, getting down to business.

“***** dykes…”  His voice trailed away and she burst out laughing,

“Sorry…” He said, taking another sip of coffee.  He wasn’t use to any of this.  He didn’t know her well enough to know how she would react to things he said, but she seemed to have his temperament and humor.

“Where is it going to be at?”  Sam questioned, looking at her watch again.  She wondered if Tina was home, she’d called all day at the office and there had been no answer.

“CAC.  In the middle of the most erotic ***** art, we are going to introduce the world to the gayest show they have ever seen.  ***** hot.”

“And there will be a lot of *****-able guys there, yes?”  Brian smiled impishly and shrugged as if that hadn’t been a thought.

“There is that.”  He sat back and drank the rest of his cup of coffee.

The CAC.  It had been turned into a dance club by the mischievous Brian Kinney, the speed at which Brian had turned the CAC into an all out thump pumping club was an amazing thing to say the least.  The waiter’s and waitresses were as close to naked as the law allowed, and there was two bars, a sound system that could be heard for blocks and purple and green lights put the place in the mood for more than looking at art.

He’d sweet talked the board into allowing him to use the place for his own plan.  A hot, ***** ***** fest.  He’d told the board it would be a convergence of visual art.  A ***** fest is what it was.  At least that is how Bette saw it.  The music was pulsing; the floor shook as the beat thumped repeatedly.

This was no black tie event; even though the waiters were wearing bow ties, and nothing much more.  She glanced left and right, looking for Tina.  Candace hadn’t come tonight; she had a job out of town.  She needed someone she trusted at her side, and that person was Tina.  But Tina was still with Sam the brilliantly sweet tomboy doctor.
