The Gathering 01.37 – How Do We Deal? Pt 1 – Ordinary Day

                “I knew she wasn’t
    stable.”  Jayden muttered, sitting back
down in her chair.  Jayden’s tangled mane
of dark blonde hair, falling into her pretty face.
    Sam
stood at the window, her forehead pressed to the glass.  Sam closed her
eyes hard, silent prayers falling from her lips.

                “Kennedy
is ok.”  Marty said; and he saw the tension
leave Sam‘s body as he said those words.  Twice now she’d come close to losing her.

                “Um her name is Shane
    Marty
    .”
    Said Larry
and Marty waved it off with
    annoyance.

                “Mild cuts and bruises
and a head lac that bleed like a gusher.
A shard of glass was in her shoulder, but it didn’t do any more damage
    than the bleeding.”
    Larry
offered; he didn’t know who Shane was to Sam.  “She got tossed by the table, slammed her
head hard and she’s ok.”  Sam
said nothing for a long moment unable to process anything.

“I have to call Tim.”  Said Sam
turning on her heels and walking to a pay phone.  She pushed everything else out of her mind,
at least for the moment.  Right now she
had to make sure that Jenny‘s parents were here
    with her.

“Sam…” Came the smokey, but weak voice of Shane.  Sam turned
and looked up, to see her coming from the inside of the Planet, she hadn’t been
    here when the car hit.

“Shane…”  Sam got up from next to Jenny and moved quickly to Shane‘s side.

                “I
have to hear it once…”  Sam didn’t
understand, then she saw the slow stream of blood pumping from
Shane‘s shoulder and the back of her head.

                “Just
    once before I die.. Don’t ***** ditto me…”

                “No,
    you’re going to be…”
Shane fell into Sam‘s arms and an EMT was next to her, helping her put
her down flat on her back.

                “Love
you…”  Sam fell back, her back to the
crumbling wall, watching as for the third time in her life she lost someone she
    loved
    .

                Sam
remembered as she called Tim and told him the
news, he said he’d be there as fast as he could, and to tell Jenny
to hang on.  He asked if they’d called
her family and Sam said she didn’t have the
number, and he said he’d do that when he got to the hospital.

    1. Phew I was just thinking these women are like family it would kill them if one of them died. Thank God its the Wolffe!!!(I know this sounds bad, but you know what I mean)

    2. My god J, you got me all worked up just to find out fucking francesca is the dead one. I got give it to you girl, you’ve got major dramatatic talents. I really love that, but I’m really happy that you let my beloved Shane live. And now it’s up to Sam to tell her that one “big” word. I hope the rest of the gang is going to be ok. I feel really sorry for Dana, must be horrific as an athlete to have this kind of injury.

    3. Jenny had me going. Thought you killed her off. Don’t know if the funeral was Sam’s first time telling Shane that she loved her but enjoyed how she just said it so casually as if those words came out her mouth everyday – priceless.
