    “MOM, she was here???”

     

    “What? Oh yes dear, she just left. She said she was staying in a hotel and to see that you got this note. What a nice gesture to drive all the way up here. She must be a very good friend.”

     

    “Mom, I need to borrow your car. Please?”

     

    “Sure Tina. But I’m sure Eric wouldn’t mind driving you. He seems dreadfully bored sitting around here all day.”

    “No Mom, I don’t want Eric to drive me. I just need to run out and pick up a few things.”

    Tina kisses her Mother on the cheek and quickly heads for the door. All Eric hears is the door slamming and the sound of Mrs. Kennards car speeding away. Assuming it was Tina’s mother and not Tina that had just left. Eric decides that now is the right time to talk to Tina. He begins to speak before he rounds the corner to the kitchen

     

    “TinaI’m tired of all this. I want to know what’s going on with us. I want to know why you were out at a ***** bar last night and why you are suddenly treating me like the plague. Tina?”

     

    As Eric peers around the corner he suddenly realizes that it was not Tina but her mother that he was talking to. He sees Mrs. Kennard standing at the kitchen counter holding her hands over her mouth in shock.

     

    “Oh Mom, I’m so sorry, I thought you were Tina. I thought you left.”

     

    “Why was my daughter at a ***** bar Eric? I demand to know what is going on with you two?”

     

    Eric sighed as he began to tell the story from the beginning. He told her about the past few months and how Tina had asked several times to see a therapist. He admitted that he had been reluctant in doing so because he didn’t want to admit that there were problems. He ashamedly told her about the baby scare and that he was almost hoping she was pregnant but that she was completely relieved to not be. He told her about the night at the gallery and her strange behavior. He ended by telling her how she showed up at her apartment at 1:00am after being out with “friends” at a ***** bar.

    14. OF COURSE, continue this story. It is great and may I ask a favor, please get rid of Eric and make Tina’s mother back off. The bible thumpers really bother me in these stories. Hope I never have to face any, I just might lose my cool and tell them off. Thanks for the post.
