    The Adventures Of Bette Porter And Sissee Gardner Schmidt After Tina (Part 2, Chapter 12)

    PART TWO: MAUI

    Chapter 12

    As we proceeded on our tour, there were the ocean vistas on one side of the road and the seek-and-find waterfalls on the other. Bette had taken a lot of pictures at our first stop and I photographed the incredible scenery as we drove along slowly behind our friends with one S curve after another. Our next stop was to make our way through a bamboo rainforest to another waterfall.

    The bamboo were dark green stalks, surprisingly thin, clustered close together in a grove over a bed of dead leaves. They shot up to 30/40 feet tall swaying gracefully in the temperate wind. Patsy, who was full of information, all of which was delivered with her bubbly personality, advised us that bamboo was an evergreen plant in the true grass family. She said it was the largest of all grasses and that it soaked up water from heavy rains. For some reason Bette was really impressed with that knowledge. She was just astounded to know that bamboo was grass. Patsy wondered if people smoked it. We all got a kick out of that.

    Every time Patsy expounded on one of her subjects, Linda hung on to her every word, nodding with approval. Linda did not say much but she might as well be screaming that she was in love with her girl friend, even though she was shy about being demonstrative in public. Patsy, nevertheless held hands every time they walked together, which is what they were doing as we ambled down a rocky path to a powerful waterfall. We could hear it before we saw it.

    This was a much bigger waterfall than the last one. The falls were wider and higher and the water below it swirled in torrents that were brown from the mud it gathered on it’s way down the mountain slope.

    We took a dozen photographs of the awesome setting as well as of each other, posing in a variety of ways. Then before long we were back on the road, headed for Honokalani Black Sand Beach.

    Before we got there Patsy stopped at a vista point where we could look down at the beach we were about to enjoy. It looked small and exclusive, bordered by lava cliffs covered with moss and ferns and accented with the ever present coconut palm trees. It was an ideal setting for lunch.

Sissee, as B & S approaching the last day in Maui, I guess another destination will be the next focus for them soon, Like what kb said, it’s really a bummer for Sissee to receive such phone call from Howie. She deserved having a great time with Bette in Maui. As usual, I enjoy your adventure story very much. Thanks again.

    2. Bette’s Babe, We all know they have to face Howie sooner or later if they want a future together. And while their good intentions about giving it time and seeing if it will work makes sense, it also makes sense to stop the cheating. We will see what happens.

    3. Howie was going to figure it out sooner or later anyway. Too bad the thought hit him when they were still in Maui, kind of puts a damper on the rest of their trip. Time for B&S to head back to the real world & face the consequences.

    6. THat’s so shitty that howie had to push that subject. But sissee didn’t really told him, okay she didn’t denay it either. I know Bette knows sis loves her but if Bette had heard that phone call..I think she would wonder if Sissee really made up her mind. Would she choice for her. As readers we know…but in real if you where Bette and you over heard it well it would make you wonder. I believe it isn’t a good idea for sis to go alone there. I know she knows howie and he won’t hurt her like beating her up. But it’s going to be painfull for both sides. Maybe bette should wait in the car. That conversation will bring back bad feelings for Bette, since last time it meant to denay her own love for sissee. Can’t wait for the next one.

    7. September, Not sure if they will be making love or not, with this being their last night on Maui. That’s why I am enjoying reading this story over, to see what happens next. I do make some changes but not a lot.

    8. September, As per your first comments. They will talk things over in the next chapter and a few things will be clarified for the reader and them. Thanks for staying focused on this story.
