“Hey, everybody listen up.  I have a couple of jokes.  What is a vampire’s least favorite food? Steak. What happens when two vampires meet?  It’s love at first bite! What did the skeleton say to the vampire? You suck. How does a girl vampire flirt? She bats her eyes.”Alice rattled the dumb jokes off without waiting for a reaction from anyone.

The women around her laughed at Alice’s ridiculous antics while Tina and the others stared at her.  Her obnoxious, childish behavior made them cringe with embarrassment.  Bette faked a smile trying not to escalate the situation. She could tell that Tina was ready to knock Alice’s lights out.  She put her hand on the blonde’s arm and stoked it trying to reasure that she was alright. 

“Oh, you guys think these are just jokes but you know what?  We can find out right here and right now if there is any truth to them.”  She walked over to Bette and stood above her ignoring Tina’s stare and the protests of her friends to leave things alone.

“What we got here tonight, ladies and…well ladies is a real life vampire, fangs and all.  So how about it Porter, did you ‘bat’ your eye lashes at Tina here or have you somehow put her in a trance. You know Bela Lugosi style.  ‘Look into my eyes Tina’.”  Alice’s attempt at Lugosi’s accent would have been almost laughable if she hadn’t been acting so maliciously.  

Everyone had now stopped dancing and someone had turned the music off so as not to miss the show that was now unfolding.

Dana stood up first.  “Hey, Al, cut it out. Everyone is just trying to have a good time tonight.  You’re bringing the party down.”

Shane was next.  “Alice go back over to your dancing.  You’re making an ass out of yourself.”

Alice and Bette had not stopped staring at one another but Bette remained sitting.  There seemed to be less malice coming from the brunette’s stare.   Tina got up and stood right in Alice’s face. 

“You know you pretend to care about me and spew your ridiculous speeches at me every chance you get and I allow it because I always tell myself that your heart is in the right place. But you know what Alice?  I am sick and tired of you meddling in my business and fucking with my life. From now on, mind your own fucking business.  Is that clear?!”
