Something so right – Chapter 104
Something so right
Chapter 104
One of the hardest things that Bette had struggled with when her and Tina had started spending every night together was sharing a double bed night after night. She wasn’t the most twitchy of sleepers but Tina could be – especially when she wasn’t happy. Bette was thinking about the early days of spending nights sleeping together as she tried without success to get to sleep. It was after midnight – work loomed only a few hours away and neither where going to get any sleep the way Tina was using the bed as a springboard to leap around. Bette winched as Tina threw her position around again and kicked Bette on the shin. Bette sighed, closed her eyes tighter and found a slightly cooler part of the pillow to rest her head on.
Bette was trying to remain philosophical about it – all the signs had been in place that this was going to be a restless night. In total Tina has spoken about five full sentences on the airplane back to LA – leaving Bette and Finn to play chess on a small portable set that Finn had retrieved from the farm. Tina had pretended to go to sleep but she had been too jumpy to fool Bette. Bette had just left her to rest – it was obvious that the whole experience had been too much for her and she probably needed some time to process whatever had happened between Tina and her father. Bette had expected Tina to open up once they dropped Finn back at his house. But Tina had stayed silent and Bette had simply turned the radio up and tried to ignore things. Once they had been home they were both immediately busy – they had left a lot of things on hold and they both needed to get ready for going back to work on Monday. Tina was a little more chatty but only if the subject didn’t matter – Bette had skirted around the BIG topic but had always been rebutted.
Tina had been still for all of 2 minutes when she grunted and threw herself over again – Bette sighed and started counting sheep. That lasted for another couple of minutes until Tina threw the duvet back and kicked her legs out of the bed. Bette returned to zero with her sheep counting. Five minutes passed with Tina lying completely uncovered – she moved a couple of times but slowly Bette was starting to relax enough to drift off to sleep. The peace was shattered by Tina grabbing the duvet and pulling it over herself and jerking away Bette’s half of the cover. She was prepared to put up with most things but having the duvet stolen was a sure fire line in the sand crossing moment – one more movement and Bette was going to have to tackle her partner. This time Bette started counting backwards in 3’s from 1000 – she got to 964 when Tina threw the duvet off again and kicked Bette hard on the shin she’d kicked 10 minutes earlier

Amazing as always.Thank you.
Great update! I don’t think Tina should apoligize, to me she did nothing wrong. Niall deserve whatever they said to him.
i’m with rbabe2005… tina di nothing wrong… niall knew what kind of a marriage they had… he agreed to it from the start… what if sarah had changed the rules first… i think niall would be pissed… i hope you make gemma a bitch… make nialls life a living hell… lol… what the hell its fan fiction after all.. pps
Oh that is just perfect. Bette is doing everything in her power to give Tina room to figure this out on her own but also be there to help her around all the corners. Nicely done Ally.
im with amanda and rbabe”i’m with rbabe2005… tina di nothing wrong… niall knew what kind of a marriage they had… he agreed to it from the start… what if sarah had changed the rules first… i think niall would be pissed… i hope you make gemma a bitch… make nialls life a living hell… lol… what the hell its fan fiction after all.. pps “
Maybe Bette will get more sleep tonight. LOL
I love your story progression, but I am not with the “Sarah beat down”. Having been a Daddy’s girl, I know that you can over idolize you dad to the detriment of your mom. I agree with Amanda, Niall knew what he was getting into when he and Sarah made their arrangement and agreement about their marriage. As I have said before, I hate the things he said about Sarah when she was involved with David and how he let the children just pile on Sarah. Yes he is her father, but it certainly was NOT easy for Sarah doing all of the heavy lifting in referancde to raising their children. Tina needs to let things calm down, but sending them a welcome to the family basket is going over board and can be seen as offensive to her mother. I don’t think that Tina needs to serve as a go between for Nialls with her sister and brother. It’s time for Nialls to do some heavy lifting. He made his bed, now he can take responsibility and reach out to his children to make amends. Thanlks and PPS :o).
Boy, ally, you’re getting everybody riled up. Niall can’t expect his original family to be accepting of his new arrangement. He might hope for their understanding but can’t expect it. He should have gotten a divorce and then started his new family. Is Sarah upset b/c she didn’t dump Niall first? That she was the dumpee and not the dumper?
Ally, you are my queen of intimate conversation… you nail it every time! Thank you. SK/C
Bette is so good for Tina in this story.
At least Tina come to her senses [Even though i still think her dad is a JERK] That no matter what, her father is always gonna be her FATHER! Thanks Ally..
Tina’s confession about feeling secure is for me the best love declaration I have read for a long time. Queen of intimate converstioan it is!
I wish my girlfriend would hold me like that again. I love this story PPS.
Wow, Tina’s father’s words really shook her to her foundation. A parent has the power to do that. She is struggling with still seeing her father as she did as a child and seeing him as a fellow adult. The tables are turned and he needs her support now. It seems that with Bette’s help she will be able to do that for him.
Wonderful update. Just brilliant. Thank you.
