“Oh you will find that I was – I broke a lot of them at college “she stopped suddenly. Tina knew that Bette had been going to say that she had broken her habits with the help of her counsellor. Tina looked at her mother who was examining her cocktail
“I think I will try a different cocktail next – what about you darling?”
“I will finish this one first mom “
“Bette – are you sure you wouldn’t like one – what spirits do you like if gin and vodka are not on your list “
“I take after my father”
“Brandy and scotch “ Emma said
“Yes – Melvin is educated Tina in the wonders of brandy “
“And how is he doing?”
“I have stopped having coughing fits when I drink it – I like the taste – very smooth “
“I spoke to your father yesterday actually Bette”
“Yes?”
“Yes – there is some dull law thing that I have to go to next week. It’s always so painful – but it’s also the first event since Kate and I split up. He is going so he offered to be my “other “ for the evening – with the blessing of Rosemary of course “
“You have saved her neck because she hates those things – is the black tie charity event ?”
“Yes – so I rang her to promise her that her husband was safe with me “she sighed “We had a really good chat. And I am taking her to lunch next week “
“Take her to the Russian Tearooms “Bette suggested “She likes vodka and she might be one of the few people who will be able to hold her own with you”
Emma considered this for a few minutes “Excellent idea Bette “ she took her phone out of her bag and wrote a note to herself -that done she put her phone away
“Right – I want a different cocktail – Bette – how about that apple and rum cake?”

It was snowing hard when Bette and Tina set off back to Tina’s apartment. Holding hands they walked along the sidewalk. Tina looked at Bette and lent across and kissed her on the cheek
“If that was to stop hyperthermia it was not enough “
“No – that was to say thank you – thanks “
“It went well “Bette assessed “She seems less – less clenched”
“Yeah – amazing what your wife leaving you will do for someone “
“Unexpected “Bette said
Tina sighed “I thought she would go to pieces but she seems to have got a new lease of life and she is just less angry”
“It must be hard to live with knowing that you are being cheated on “Bette said
“You were brilliant Bette – it meant so much to me “
“We talked a little when you went outside and we are going to get together for a longer chat. – She can take me somewhere expensive if she’s taking mom to the Russian Tearooms – that will be something worth seeing. I thought it went well – she seems to think that I am doing well enough to be with her daughter “
“I don’t think that was ever in doubt “Tina replied “She is doing all the right things – treating herself to time off and long lunches – the cats are a great idea and so is going swimming “
“You really would have no issue with her dating someone?”
“No – she’s a hot woman – she’s loaded – I am worried she will get involved with someone unsuitable but I think she is wary. I hope she finds someone who makes her spectacularly happy “
“And Kate?”
Tina looked at Bette “She better hang onto the rich bitch because if she gets sacked and struck off she won’t work again – anywhere. I hope Alex was worth it because she running out of bridges to set fire to “

Thanks for all the posts, I just caught up with them. Glad everything is going well for Tina and Bette with Emma. I would feel sorry for kate except that this is about the fourth time she has done this. Tina is right, she’d better stay with the tart because she will never work again as soon as the other partners and the ethics committee get ahold of what she has done. Great work. thanks.

Great update. What a good week for us readers. Four in a row! Tina and Bette seemed to have a good time with Emma. There will be fallout from the nasty divorce do Tina and bette need to be strong with each other. Rosemary and Emma have secrets too. Let’s hope that stays hidden. PPS

Thanks for the frequent updates. I am enjoying the story more and more. I was impressed at how well Bette and Emma were getting along. Tina is lucky to have their support.
I can only repeat, what was a great four chapter in week.
It was great, I like it.
Bette and Emma is really starting to build a relationship with the past buried.
Kate seems to lose everything. I am wondering what she will do?
I can not wait for the next chapter, we do not know what will. the thrill kill, there are so many options :)

Some commented that they feel sorry for Kate, NOT. But I have a bad feeling that just when Bette and Emma are on the mend that Kate will reveal what happened with Rosie and the affair back in college. Drama Rama.
