Soft Spoken Secrets (Gudang Garam) # 12

Tina’s tears tried to interrupt her words. Bette’s heart got small on her chest.

“After I pushed you away, my soul dressed itself with doubts. And “If I have done differently…” became almost my mantra.”

She stopped to broke the line of tears.

“And every night Bette…every night, since those days, I found sleep by the edge of an abyss. My sheets never were permeated from those scents that only you carry. Since that days, babe, I forgot how to get along well with my own body and I only could smile from deep inside when Madison arrived to my life. Nonetheless, my personal life was and still is abstract. Obsolete. I could be enough to people, but no one, but you, could fill the spaces inside me. Along these years I feed my body with tasteless, dull, flat sensations and I feed my heart with nameless people.
And all these sadness and shadows, … because I denied you. And I denied myself from fighting. I denied us a future. The incognito that could lead us to unforgettable experiences and, until these days, you even don’t know why…

Bette was frozen at her chair. Her mind didn’t know what to think, but her body already reacted to Tina’s words.

“But, I beg you, babe, please, please… Bette, just allow me to call you, … Or write to you, to be in contact with you…Accept my tentative… not to show you how much I was …I am… sorry, …But …Let me show you how much I am ready to be the woman you need, the woman you dreamed of.”

The air was full of intentions and interrogations.
Tina was afraid she had said too much. She was afraid she scared Bette. She was afraid she had forced…She was afraid.

Finally the hard intake of breath filled her anxious wait with what would be, maybe, an answer.

    “Ok,…but…”

Bette hesitated. Those words found a place too deep in her soul when pronounced.

    “But, don’t call me, babe…”

“Ok, Bette…” Tina felt arm rush of happiness walk along her body. Her smile was concreted to her face, and again she let words flew from her mouth.

“But I was and always will be your T. I never let anyone else call me that…”

    1. Braz I am in awe how you gave us another great chpater of these two women who hurt and love one another. I loved how TIna said she would not give up and I can’t wait for the next chapter!! Loved it

    2. That was great and like that Tina not give up on her woman and glad to see Bette give her a chance and now let whats gonna happen next, hope they will work thing out. Please post more, thanks!

    3. Oh, Braz, you certainly left us speechless. When love is so profound and meaningful, there is never an end of it. People change, grow and may go on with their lives, but love will still be there, deep inside, when it is meant to be. If somehow B&T lost their way to each other in the past, this will be a right time to come back to terms with each other. They are mature now and both just need to find the right path to rejoin their lives. We are sure that Madison will be delighted to see her mom transforming into the woman who captured Bette’s heart in the past and see her mom’s genuine smile, after so long. Thanks for a brilliant update, dear friend. PPS Big Hs & Ks – Lucero & Marsha

    4. Their pain is so palpable and powerful! I am glad that Tina has talked to Madison and I hope this shows Bette how truly ready Tina is to try and find a way for them. However, I imagine that it won’t be an easy road after all the years of pain.

    5. Heyyy… finally took the time to read this one :-) – I was tired, and I feered for this post to be “difficult”… well, it sure was, but less than “Caramel/Carmine”… Tina finally told her story to Madison… now, she needs to tell it to Bette too… at least, the nameless blond was nice and smart, and she sure gave Bette a good advice… now, will Bette be smart enough to listen to it, or will Madison have to be the go-between ? thanks Honey, XOXOXOXO
