    Author Notes:

    Carmen discovery of feelings for her roommate, Shane and Jenny

    Jenny: well, I just called to say I love you.

              Shane didn’t notice that Carmen was listening

    Shane: I love you too….

     

               When Tasha and Alice arrived at Carmen’s house, the news was flashing on the TV again with an update of the person that was pulled from the wrecked.

     

    Steve: hey, Joel are you still at the crash site. Yeah, Steve right now EMT and fire fighters have managed to pull the EMT worker that was trapped inside.

     

    Steve: do we yet have an identity?

    Joel: The EMT workers name is Sloan Matthews; she is a 6 year veteran for the EMS department. Adopted daughter of a well known surgeon and she is also a physician assistant and choose to be an EMT worker for the state of California. We know that she is in stable condition right now, no further word yet on anything else.

     

     

      Carmen couldn’t believe it, she ran upstairs to put on her shoes, wanting jump in her truck and speed off to the hospital. Shane had to stop her.

     

    Shane: wooh, wooh, where are you going? (Grabbing her arm)

    Carmen: I have to go Shane, (crying) that’s Sloan.

    Shane: you can’t drive like this you are hysterical, come on I will take you.

    Alice: do you want us to go with you?

    Carmen: (upset) I can’t wait she needs me Shane, I need to see her.

    Shane: (hugging her) I know, I know but you are going to hurt yourself. I am going with you. I will drive.

     

               Shane and Carmen are in her truck. Alice and Tasha followed

     

     

     

             At the hospital, the place was filled with people. Shane went to the information desk in the ER

     

    Shane: hi, uh we are looking for Sloan Matthews.            

    Nurse: are you family of hers?

    Carmen: no, but I am her roommate

    Nurse: well all I can tell you is that they are working on her right now. Why don’t you go home and come back tomorrow.

    Carmen: I can’t. I am all the family she has. I need to see her.

    Nurse: we can’t let anyone in to see the patient just yet, but we will let you know.
