“So? Is she coming?” Dana asked
“She said she was but apparently she had some run in with Tina yesterday and so I’m not so sure now” she answered.
“What’s up with the two of them?” asked Dana. “Have they talked yet?”
“I don’t think so” she replied as she opened the bottle of wine. “And you know Porter. If she don’t feel like budgin’, then she ain’t going to” she said as she pulled the cork out of the bottle.
“I guess” she said as she continued to watch
“Which one?” asked
“Both I guess.”
“Pretty shell shocked I think” she answered as she looked into her living room to watch Tina talking to Jenny.
“Bette too?”
“Probably more so” she said as she turned her attention back to Dana. “I mean, until the two of them sit down together, just the two of them, none of this ***** will ever be figured out.”
“Is Bette willing to do that?”
“I haven’t asked her, but my guess would be no, at least not yet.”
“And Tina? She wants to see Bette?”
“See Bette?” she chuckled. “I think that there’s a lot more that she wants from Bette than just seeing her, but yes, she very much wants to at least have a conversation with her.”
“When you talked to Tina, did it make sense what she told you, about why she left the way she did, staying away for so long?”
Looking back out in the living room to make sure Tina was not coming in, she reached for the wine glass that she had just filled for Carmen and took a sip.
Nodding her head as she drank the wine, she said “What she said made sense, I don’t really think that that’s the question. Tina’s reasons are pretty clear and after she told me what she had been going through, I totally got it. Problem is though, I’m not the one that needs to get it. None of us are the ones that need to get it. The only one that needs to understand why Tina did what she did is currently not here and as it turns out” she said as she looked at her watch, “probably is not even coming.”

Honestly? For a moment I was thinking that when Bette asked “Bedroom?” Lee was going to say “too far”, and send Bette panicking. I just love where you’re taking this.
I didn’t know I was holding my breath until I finished reading this. Skip, how do you do that to me. I don’t know who to feel worse for…Bette or Tina or maybe even Lee, because she will most definetly be a casualty if Tina has her way. Great chapter!

This story is yummy! I’m a sucker for the fall guy…poor Lee, she seems so nice, too bad she’s going to be the one that gets hurt! I was thinking that Tina was going to go over to Bette’s when she said she wasn’t coming…I sure hope she doesn’t go over now!
such drama…i think it will be better if bette will let lee go, it will be hard on her, and they are not that strong anyway…bette needs to talk to tina first before making any decisions…i hope B&T will be together soon

This is the first time that I’m leaving a comment on your posting but I just want to let you know that I love your writing and that I really appreciate what you’ve been sharing with us readers. I haven’t read this chapter yet but I’m working hard on trying to catch up. Now, back to my reading and will leave more comments once I’m all caught up.

“I just sometimes wonder if I’ll ever be able to make her understand.” Yeah, me too. On another note, Lee’s right, her relationship with Bette will change (is changing…i.e. their conversation & the outpouring of emotion from Bette). It’s good that she recognizes this upfront so she can start preparing herself for, well… so she can start preparing herself period. And Skip, I’ll have you know that I will not ‘skip’ this story even if you don’t honor my request. Okay, the whole Bette backing over T with her car was a bit harsh but I was all riled up after reading that previous chapter. *shakes head in shame* It took me forever to calm down. I even cringed when I saw this post from you. I’ll play fair from now on. Please forgive me. I like Tina. I like a healthy Tina. Repeat 100 times. Your writing is so dynamic yet delicate. What a balance. What an undeniable talent you have. Whew.
Lee and Bette’s relationship has shifted, Lee is so right…Tina has got a hell of a job on her hands to get Bette back, I don’t think Lee is going to give up so easily. Thank you.
