“What’s next?” Alice looked at everyone and smiled. “Now that there’s nothing really left to explain or to reveal, life will go on as usual. Bette stays here with Tina and we will try our best to keep the time travel a secret from everyone, especially the government.”

Alice gathered all the copies and notes scattered on the coffee table and stuffed them inside the manila folder she brought with her. “I will destroy all evidence,” she added seriously, pointing at the papers.

Nobody noticed that a lone piece of paper stuck under the pile of subscription magazines.

Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 54

Chapter 54: Loving you is some kind of wonderful… (Bette is being tempted and Tina gets some news at work)

Place: Los Angeles, CA

Year: March 19, 2006 – Sunday night

After everyone left, Bette and Tina spent the rest of the Sunday lounging around, watching classical romantic movies and cooking a dinner together. It was just perfect. After dinner they watched “Xena: Warrior Princess” marathon because Bette found it very amusing how much the characters resembled Tina and her.

They just finished watching “Many Happy Returns” episode when Bette turned to Tina and recited the Sappho’s poem from the ending:

“There’s a moment when I look at you and no speech is left in me. My tongue breaks, then fire races under my skin, and I tremble…and grow pale for I am dying of such love or so it seems to me.”

She looked at Tina for a moment and smiled, “You know, this is how I felt when I first saw you.”

“As I remember, you kept passing out the moment you laid your eyes on me,” Tina laughed.

It may be so but the moment I was able to look at you without losing my consciousness, that’s what I felt…and I still tremble every time I look at you.”

“I like to feel your eyes on me when I look away,” Tina whispered. “I have so much love for you, sometimes I can’t breathe…”
