Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 42
“Wow…Bette, what a story,” Tina exclaimed in amazement. “Do you remember when exactly did it happen?”
“I’m not sure…I think it was in May…but I might have written about it in my diary because when I was young I wrote in it every day, just like my mother did.”
“As soon as we finish filming we are embarking on a scavenger hunt, babe,” Tina said excitedly as the taxi pulled onto Julie’s driveway.
Place: Boston, MA – Julie’s house
Year: Dec. 31, 2005 – Saturday, New Year’s Eve
The girls spent the whole day Saturday driving around Boston, walking the streets and enjoying the holiday lights and festivities.
Later in the evening they finished dinner and gathered in the family room, watching a few concerts and movies on TV and waiting for the midnight. Steven brought in champagne and gave the kids apple cider to be ready to celebrate.
“Babe, let’s go on the back porch…” Tina whispered to Bette while they were sitting on a comfortable sofa.
“But why, Tee? They are going to count down any minute now…”
“And I want to kiss you at midnight but I don’t think Julie would appreciate us doing it in front of her kids.”
“We are going outside, Jules,” Tina said to her sister, taking Bette’s hand and leading her to the back porch.
“Oh…good thinking, babe…how do you do it?” Bette said when they were alone and could be more intimate with each other.
“Doing what?”
“Thinking of everything and everybody…Tee, I would be lost without you.”
They could hear the people on TV chanting the countdown and Tina moved closer to Bette, putting her arms around her waist. “10, 9, 8……1, Happy New Year, baby,” she said happily and give Bette a passionate kiss on her lips.
The were still embracing each other and enjoying little kisses, when they heard Julie’s voice on the porch, “Tina, you missed the…what is going on? What are you doing?” She looked at them in shock, after witnessing the two women kissing.
“What does it look like, Julie? It’s a New Year tradition and I was kissing my girlfriend.”
“How…I mean, Tina…you’re not suggesting that you are…are you gay?”
“Julie, when I introduced Bette yesterday as my girlfriend, I thought you understood,” Tina said, feeling shaky inside.

That was awesome and glad Jules is trying there, love this Steven, nice guy. Please post more, thanks!
Excellent. Love Steven. Thank you :)
OOOOOOH NOOOOO!!!! isn’t this where the story went into hiatus? I have been so excited that I was now going to find out what happened. Now I am having an anxiety attack. Hyperventilating. Wringing my hands.Heart palpitations even. Sigh. I’m going to have to find some of Tina’s Xanax. I just hope that Tina left enough. So, despite my selfish whiny stress, I hope you have a great time at L6.
The plot is thicken! Great chapter.. can’t wait for more. Hope you have a wonderful time at L6. :)
O.K. B&TF we can live with a little delay considering that you are at the conference, but remember your promise to finish it this time. Wonderful update. I love the fact that Steve was the non homophobic one…priceless!
Cool Grandmother. I do hope that the paintings and diary are found. Steven is also pretty cool.
Great chapter. Wonder what happened to the trunk and its’ contents? Gonna have to go back and read from the beginning cause this chapter really caught my attention. Have read here and there but didn’t get into it, now I am. Must read up on everything. Have a great time at L6.
Oh, damn! Why is homophobia in the world? This is unfair! *sigh* Fortunately at Julie passed off soon! :o) Have fun at L6!
