Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 35

“Why do you think that when you have Tina? You guys are a match made in heaven, why do you try to complicate things by not letting Christina go?”

“I don’t know…maybe because I never had a closure with her. I feel like this page of the book of my life needs to be written still…do you know what I mean?”

“Did you talk to Tina about it?” Alice asked, fighting an unbearable desire to go ahead and tell Bette the truth about Christina, but even she understood that it was Tina’s decision to do so.

“Not really…I mean, Tina knows I love her…that I’m in love with her and I guess she might think that I have some feelings for Christina left but I…well, we haven’t really talked about it lately.”

“Maybe you should do it again, since this place brings back all these memories,” Alice replied with concern.

“Alice, would you like to go with me to the grove? I haven’t been there since that night…that horrible night when…” Bette choked and just looked at Alice with her eyes full of tears.

“Let’s go,” Alice simply said, trying to figure out how to make it easier for Bette to deal with this situation. They walked slowly towards the grove and Bette stopped near the familiar sequoia tree. She stood there for a moment and touched the bark with her fingers.

“The tree is still here. It’s crazy, isn’t it?” she said softly.

“Bette, are you sure you can handle being here for a couple of months?” Alice asked, worried about Bette’s emotions.

“I don’t know but I can try…” Bette said, closing her eyes and feeling a light breeze tenderly kissing her face.

“You can try what, babe?” they heard Tina who quietly approached them from behind.

“Well…” Bette attempted to find something to say but Alice didn’t let her finish, “Bette, why don’t you go back to your room and rest a little. You seem tired and I’ll explain to Tina what’s going on.”

“Okay,” Bette complied obediently, giving Tina a hug and going back into the house. She was indeed tired and overwhelmed and didn’t know how to discuss it with Tina yet. She suddenly didn’t feel like talking about Christina at all.

    1. Oh boy, the longer Tina waits to tell Bette the worse it will be when she does. I can totally understand why Bette is having confused feelings…it’s because she really is in between 2 worlds…the one she grew up in and the one that she has come to know now. Neither world will be the same…knowing what the future holds changes the old world that she is from and living in the new world missing (grieving really) the loss of everyone she new in the old. It’s hard…I hope Tina really recognizes that. Great job B&TF…I love this story!

    2. Tina should have told her before making love to Bette the first time. :) I know drama :) but it’s going to bite her in the butt big time.

    3. Oh man this story just gets better! They both have so much to talk about! Hopefully they’ll get to it sooner than later. Thanks for the update

    4. Poor Bette, Christina or Tina, Christina or Tina. A hard choice but in reality it is Christina who is apart of Tina, so I say pick Tina. Besides Christina is married and well Tina is single and madly in love with Bette.
