    Author Notes:

    The gang faces a tragedy and must deal with pulling the pieces together.

    She set staring at the closed green door before her, its cracking paint seemed to be grinning at her, mocking her.  Her body was numb, curled into a fetal position her back against the wall her eyes unblinking.  Tears no longer fell, she must have cried them all out, but her face still held the stains.  Alices heart pounded in her head the only sound she could hear.  Thump, thump…she wondered how that was possible, how it still was beating when the very person that owned it was gone. 

     

    Dana was gone.  She would no longer be able to look into her green eyes smiling back at her.  The warmth from a simple embrace was never something Alice would feel again.  Her body began to tremble at the complete emptiness she felt.  She unconsciously began to rock her body, but it offered no comfort.  Strong arms enveloped her pulling her away from the door, but she didnt feel them, her body was dead weight and she continued to gaze at the door.  She was waiting for her nightmare to endfor the sound of the lock turning or the smell of her love to waive under the door as it always did before the athlete bounded into the room.  In the end it would just be a horrible jokeit wasnt real.


     

    4 hours earlier:

     

    Flushin hearts!  Shane grinned as she laid her cards on the table, displaying the consistent red hearts that won her the pot.  I guess I win again.

     

    Alice groaned and dropped her cards to the table in frustration.  I swear you cheat, no one could win that much!

     

    How could I cheat Al?  You stripped searched me when I got herewhere would I be hiding the cards?  Grinning broadly, she took a long drink of her beer.

     

    Shes right babyI checked her pockets after she took them off.  Dana smiled, remembering how Alice had wrestled Shane to the floor and forced the boyish woman to undress.

     

    Seeyou just suck at poker!  Pulling the pot into her pile, Shane laughed at the frustrated blonde.

     

    If Bette and Tina were here you wouldnt be acting so cocky!  Standing, Alice made her way into the kitchen a retrieve the last beer.  Bette would be kicking your *****!  She yelled into the living area.

    25. This is my first time ever commenting on anyone’s story but I have to say this this story is absolutly phenominal. I really like the aspect that everyone is so emotionally distrought over Dana’s death. Trully great writting. Keep it up and post soon I really want to know what happens next.
