Bette gave Tina one last look and turned down the hall towards the bedroom. Tina watched Bette walk away licking her wounds like a dog who just lost a fight and Tina just didnt know what to say to Bette anymore. She took a deep breath and went about cleaning up the remainder of what was left outside from dinner and about an hour or so later she headed off to the shower to get ready for bed.

As Tina walked to the shower she thought about what had just happened between her and Bette. What had started out as such a great night had turned into something so crappy and Tina didnt know why. Well thats not entirely true. Tina knew why. It was because Bette had made such an effort to make Tina feel loved and adored like Tina had told her she hadnt been feeling lately and Bette probably felt like she just stepped all over it. But what was I supposed to do? thought Tina as she stripped down and got into the shower. Tina turned on the hot water and stood under the stream for a minute just enjoying the feel of the water on her soft skin. Bette cant expect that just because she makes an effort that everything is okay But then again, she did do what I asked forbut she has to understand that I wasnt trying to shove things in her face, I just wanted to clear the air about a lot of things Oh *****

Tina could feel the water easing her tension a little and after fighting it for a few seconds she gave in and let the water work its therapeutic magic on her body.

Ahhhhh

She let out a soft moan as the water worked its way over her shoulder blades and down her back and chest and she felt the weight of the world lift off of her shoulders. She stood in the shower for a few more minutes before finally getting out after her hands had become all pruney. She slipped on her robe and headed into the bedroom hoping to find a sleeping Bette so she could just crawl into bed and forget that today even happened. When she pushed open the door she seemed to be in luck as Bette was breathing softly lying on her back. Tina got changed and turned off the lights before slipping in beside Bette. She studied Bettes sleeping profile in the moonlight and smiled a little. Seeing Bette this relaxed, this free of worry was one of her most favorite things to look at and for just a few seconds Tina could swear that Bette looked almost angelic.

I love you baby

Tina whispered softly before turning on her side and snuggling up to Bette. Almost unconsciously Bette reached out and put her arm around Tina keeping her in a safe embrace. This was an indicator of how things stood between them and Tina took it as a good sign. If they were really fighting Bette usually slept on her side facing away from Tina and she wouldnt make any effort to hold her or be near her when they slept. But when things went more like tonight and Bette would reach out for her Tina knew that everything was okay. She smiled and snuggled more into Bette and kissed her softly on the cheek before letting her eyes shutter closed. She loved ending days like this especially since another disaster had been avoided and like anything else going to sleep angry or upset was the worst thing in the world. She was almost fast asleep when she heard a whisper that made her heart swell.
