"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Helena was throwing her dresses on the bed with raising anxiety. The time Dylan’s would have been there was approaching fast, and still she had not found anything appropriate to wear for the night. She was determined to look not just amazing, but really stunning: she wanted Dylan to die after her, to suffer for what she could not have: "Just Look, don’t touch, baby! "
Her long dark curly hair were so soft and shining she knew that would have been a torture for Dylan not to put her fingers through them… "That felt so good, honestly.. Mmm" she admitted to herself letting her mind go back to cherish the last touch of Dylan’s hands inside her hair… She pushed away that dangerous thoughts, and try to concentrate again on the mission:"Let’s dress to kill". So far, she had just put on a black silk skirt that was short enough and fit in the right places, to let the eye to understand her body lines at each slight move. But the top was still a large question mark, and right now she had only put on, without really questioning any hidden meanings behind that choice, the most sexy bra she had ever paid for. The bell rang and she move the curtains to look down at Dylan standing in front of the house gate. "Oh my God! You put "that" shirt right on purpose, Dylan, didn’t you?" Dylan was dressed as usual with denim washed jeans, and the same white shirt she wore the night of the "test". Each single detail of that shirt, the cuff-links, the front buttons, the semi-transparent sleeves, were impressed in her memory. She grabbed a shoulder-less blouse and went to open the door without further hesitation.
"Hello, Dylan. You’re early." Helena opened the door and enjoyed the shocked face of Dylan with semi-open mouth and wide eyes, staring at her topless dress and indulging on the black lace bra, and what it hardly covered to sight. "Ehm… Mmm… Wow" after a sequence of mostly not intelligible sounds, Dylan managed to create a sentence of sense: "Well, you really look amazing tonight, as usual, my Love. But I hope this is not another kind of test for me, ’cause I swear I’m not going to put an hand on you until we’ve had some serious talk this time." Helena can’t hide a smile. "Com’ in. No, no more tests for now. I was almost finished but I didn’t want you to wait at the door, not sure I would have find you still there when I came down."
"How funny, I was just thinking to leave if you didn’t open in a couple of secs". Dylan was not laughing, and the smile went away on Helena’s face too.. "Sorry" "You’d better put some clothes on, Helena. I’m going to play fair tonight, and I’d like you to do the same." "Playing fair? What a good news. And why do you think I’m not?" "Because you perfectly know which kind of effect your naked skin can have on my own body, and on my verbal capacities. Then I suggest you put a jacket on that lovely top you’re holding, and cover that tempting sight from my eyes"
This time Dylan was smiling, and her eyes were locked with Helena’s. She blushed and looked away, then smiled back, and admitted to herself she missed so much having sexy talking with Dylan, without being afraid of the consequences… Flirting with her was such natural and easy and … Fucking exciting… Helena turned her back to Dylan, getting aware that the game she intended to play with Dylan was going to affect her as well. She suddenly remembered why she had not allowed herself to call her after their last break up, and most of all seeing her face to face. She still affected her so much, both physically and mentally, she was not sure she could handle the situation. As if reading her mind, this time Dylan found the right words at the right time "Helena, please… I’m not asking much. Let’s talk to me tonight, and tomorrow I’ll be gone, if you want me to". Holding back the tears that were already surfacing, Helena went upstairs without turning herself to look at Dylan "I’ll be back in five minutes. Serve you a drink If you want, you’ll find all bottles in place" Dylan smiled "Thank you, I guess I’ll wait for you. Be back soon".
While Dylan was driving to the restaurant Helena thought that it was probably their first "real" date. Besides, that was the second time in two days she let herself to be driven by Dylan, whereas she usually liked to be the driver, and, out of metaphor, to control the situation. The first time they met, she could not help that: even if it looked like Helena was the "aggressive" one, she well knew how she felt anytime Dylan was around. She tried desperately to stay away from that potentially heartbreaking story, but her attempt was useless. "What starts in chaos, ends in chaos". Did she ever listen to her own advice? She was so captivated by that woman, her feelings were so intense.. Each time she let herself recalling the moment she could have stopped, she didn’t find it possible. "I was too much attracted by her.. Fuck! I’m still now. After all the lies she told me, after she made a fool of me in any possible ways, I’m still craving for her touch to feel the same sensation once more…"
"What?" Helena startled at Dylan’s unexpected question. She could not read her mind, right? "Nothing.. I was just thinking this is maybe the first dinner that actually resembles a real date". "Yeah, I thought the same. By the way, I forgot to give you something, you can take it from the car drawer." Curiosity won on pride, and Helena opened the drawer without further questions: a flat envelope with a black hand written "Helena" on the top was waiting for her. "Open it". She extracted a black-and-white photo, with narrow white borders. It was a portrait of a sleeping Helena, the focus on face, hair and naked shoulders, with that kind of expression that can only be caught in those rare precious moments when you feel at the same time fully loved, satisfied and safe. "When did you take this?" "The last night we spent together. I just wanted to share the way I like to look at you." "It’s very beautiful. Thanks" Helena was afraid of speaking too many words because she really felt moved. By looking at that photo, everyone could tell it was taken by a loving eye.
