Masked Feelings Chapter 99 What next???

After leaving the bathroom, she stood by the bedside and looked at her. She was sleeping so peacefully and was no longer making any noise. How could she go back to bed now and possibly wake her up? Roxy decided to take a walk through the house. Her first place was to the kitchen. She found herself rummaging through the refrigerator for a bite to eat. Supper had been stressful enough that she barely ate anything and had basically just pushed her food around on the plate.

She grabbed a plate of cold chicken from the fridge and put it on the counter beside her. Mr. Avanti was sitting at the table on the other side of the room.

    Robert – Can’t sleep?

She nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard his voice, but quickly recovered.

    Roxy – Huh? No.

Robert – I guess it’s not easy to sleep in different place.

Roxy – It’s not so much that. I just don’t sleep this time of the year.

Robert – Insomnia… I know that one. Want a warm glass of milk?

Roxy – That doesn’t work for me.

Robert – Well, sometimes it works for me, but not when I have a lot on my mind. I imagine you’re under a fair amount of stress with the training.

Roxy – It’s not bad. I just hate all the written exams.

Robert – From what Erika tells me, you’re doing just great.

Roxy – She talks about me?

Robert – I haven’t really heard a lot, but from what I gather, you make a great team. Maybe she was skeptical at first, because the both of you were forced to be partners… but she says that it’s all working out better than she expected.

Roxy was really confused by what that was supposed to mean.

David rented out an auditorium and filled it up with lots of people, mostly the worst kind of deviants. He was lured here under the assumption that he would talk to this group of students about a career in the health care industry. He wasn’t a doctor, but an administrative director of a well- known facility. A main part of his job was to determine where and how the money would be spent. Any business professional would greatly benefit from Don’s expertise… or maybe they would all learn a whole new lesson.
