Masked Feelings Chapter 99 What next???

Roxy didn’t understand what she was talking about. She just laid there beside Erika, trying to prepare herself for anything. As tired as she was, Roxy just couldn’t sleep. Her partner didn’t seem to have the same problem. She hadn’t moved for a great deal of time. The questions that were fired at her earlier really got to her and had her thinking. Did she do anything in her sleep? God forbid if she did anything embarrassing. This had never been an issue for her before. She had always slept alone. She had always been alone. It was still an adjustment having a roommate.

It still scared her that anyone would get too close to her. She managed to always keep a certain distance so no one would get to really know her. This weekend was going to be a real test with a family that loved having conversations. This is not what she was accustomed to, but then again Roxy didn’t have a normal childhood. Every family had skeletons in their closet and no one needed to know hers. Between Adam and Erika, she had better be on her toes.

In spite of the obvious tension of being under a microscope, there was something comfortable about being with a family that genuinely cared and loved each other. When the focus hadn’t been on her, they were actually interested in what was going on in each other’s lives. The little attention and love she got was from her mother, but it didn’t last when the next guy would come along. The men that came in and out of their lives didn’t benefit either of them, in fact it would be much, much worse. She didn’t care much for men and probably never would respect any of them.

The best way to destroy the enemy is to get to know them inside and out. David knew just how self -centered and greedy his boss really was. He wasn’t exactly the kind of person that portrayed morality and respectability, but he sure as hell expected it out of his employees. It wasn’t hard for those to see that he didn’t follow the rules. He was better preaching, "do as I say and not as I do". What a hypocrite. There would be retribution for his crimes and it wasn’t about just this damn parking space.
