Masked Feelings CH 43 Stalemate
Kristin – What is that, Dana?
Dana – ummm…
Kristin pulls it out of the drawer and looks at it.
Kristin – Dana, what are you doing with this? And where did you get it from?
Dana putting her head down, speaking softly.
Dana – I got it out of Roxy’s briefcase…. made a copy.
Kristin – Why would you do that?
Dana – I needed to read what was in there. I wanted to find some dirt on my own… this was before I hired the PI.
Kristin – Just don’t do anything like that again… promise me. Dana…
Dana – Fine.
Kristin – What was in the report that you didn’t know about?
Dana – Lara’s body… it was missing.
Kristin – What?
Dana – Look for yourself.
Everything in the report made sense except for Lara’s body being missing. Kristin was mystified.
Dana – How does a body come up missing? Did someone take it?
Kristin – I don’t know. What I can tell from the report, there was the period of time when Roxy left to take you to the hospital and when the police showed up to seal off the crime scene… between those two times is when something had to have happened.
Dana – I would’ve never given the report the time of day, except Sara was the one who told me that Lara’s body wasn’t there for the funeral.
Kristin – Sara…. she was Lara’s sister, right?
Dana – Yes.
Kristin – I wouldn’t read to much into the report… stranger things do happen.
Dana – Roxy could’ve at least told me about it.
Kristin – It’s probably better that she didn’t. You had been through so much already. You know I wouldn’t defend Roxy, but at least she tried to spare you that ugly bit of news.
Dana – I suppose so…. but I’m sure her intentions were not to spare me.

Roxy was starting to come out of it….. she had been fighting the drowsiness for the past hour, only to doze off for a few more minutes. If she didn’t know better, all that had transpired had been a dream. The pain that she felt in her hand and head told her differently. A part of her wanted to fall asleep and never wake up again. Knowing Alice was finally going to be safe made her very happy. She would get to be the hero, but it appeared that she was going to be sent away empty handed. Someone was putting the screws to her now… but it wouldn’t last forever. Roxy would have to take her victories when they came…. Alice’s freedom was a biggie and what could possibly sweeten the pot, Bobby’s gratefulness for coming through…. Not Tony, her. Tony was suppose to find Gina’s killer. It felt good to put that bastard in the back of the line, where he belonged. Bobby would have to stand up and take notice of her now…. she wasn’t made to hide in the shadows… she was made to stand out. Take notice, you bastard…. you’re going down! Bobby, you have a lot to answer for…

Ha first wow you’ve temporarily sated me brteyes, but I must warn you I can never get enough. That was hot hot hot! I loved the comment about harmony and that kiss had me screaming (and not in joy). The exchange for the money is going to get ugly for Roxy, lets hope she can handle it. The fight was painfully and only preparing us for things to come. Alice has got some xplanin’ to do about kissing Roxy in Dana’s house. I’m sure Dana will ask once the shit hits the fan and I doubt Alice will lie. Actually I bet alice is waiting for Dana to get better so they can get it on then she can drop the bomb! Thank you for making my week but I will be expecting that snippet of things to come. PS I hate you for being so amazing and captivating my mind the way you do. or do I love you for it :)
Bimey, I’m first…**doing my little Indian dance** Oi, that was good!! I’m so glad they spoke some, there’s a lot of miles left. I hope that Roxy (as much of a B.I. that she is) can prove to Bobby that it wasn’t Alice. I want her to be clear of the mob, there a dangerous lot. They do need to be alone, but that’s not what’s going to solve their problems, it’s not just Roxy, Alice needs to know that Dana is her one and only…I would get down on my knees for ya again, but they’re still hurting from getting down on them for ClosetDana. Can’t wait for next chap…Cheers mates.
I’m sorry you’ve been feeling the writer’s block settle in. Hopefully that doesn’t long :) Thank you for my Danish sappy moment. Just so you know, it’s torturing me to have my two favorite characters have all these secrets built up between them. I hope the talk will be had soon so they can move on and get over it. You know, you have me curious about Kristen…I wonder if she’ll start having feelings for Dana…or vice versa??? Or maybe she’s secretly helping Roxy! That would be painful. Great job and please don’t stop!!!
Hey babe, what a great chapter. i’m glad you got it out, i know you wanted to by sunday. i like the way things are progressing. what im really wondering is who the hell that person is making the deal with roxy..and how all this will tie in. this story just keeps gettin better and better, but i dont have to tell you that twice. get job, i’ll save all my great comments and things for later. but i just want to show you some love on your story. you know you always do a perfect job baby. until next time..
I know she loves Dana, but Alice is seriously scaring me! So much has happened, but Dana and Alice have never dealt with their pain and Lara. I have a feeling things are going to get so much worse before they begin to heal. Oh yeah – Kristin is married and straight, right?
I love Alice, but the poor girl needs some therapy to help her sort all this out. Still loving the story… keep it coming!
OMG, I had tears in my eyes when Alice and Dana fought. I’m so into this story it’s insane! Loved the making up but they have a lot of talking left to do. The torture is killing me but still I keep coming back for it with great pleasure. Thanks for another amazing update. I’m kind of scared for the next couple of chapters but I will always be back to read and comment on your great story.
this is just getting better and better with each post and yes I do keep coming back for more so please post soon
Ok, if you end the story like that we forget the struggle they went trough in the rest of the chapter (or is that just me ;) ). What a self-restraint Dana has…it must be the effect of the anti-depressants…4 days to go and Dana can have some teasing of her own… :P (That is, if Dana and Alice’s relationship isn’t jeopardized by then…) *goes back to read the beginning of the chapter for the second time* Loved the dialogue between Kirstin, Dana and Alice…light and entertaining. :) That Dana didn’t walk in on Roxy and Alice on the couch, how big are the odds! I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I feel a bit sad for Roxy. She really has it bad for Alice and she really is taking a huge risk by saving Alice from Tony’s clutches. I’m really wondering how that al will go. Roxy, mob family and mystery man (who is he?!?!) all together..I can’t be a good thing. The talk between Alice and Dana was really open and honest….well parts of it were. I’m looking forward to THE talk in the next chapter(s). It’s gonna be a long talk and lots of angry moments…but I hope it will clear things up and gets them closer (altough I fear it will drift them further apart (temporarily)). (Btw, I give up, I really don’t know what the purpose of the clock is…I will wait and find out.)
OK I’ll admit, I read it again and found more stuff I forgot to comment on. Like the sandwich…I don’t know what it is about the statement “Do you want half of my sandwich” but it cracks me up everytime. Something about it being such a simple question that sparks so much crap. I’m over here screaming “NO Roxy she doesn’t want half of you friggin sandwich…go somewhere!”. I guess Dana and I have something in common causing goosebumps,(too bad I don’t cause them the way she does…:) You’ve got a lot of people on their knees for you, a gal could get jealous :)
