“But, Mom….” Angelica suddenly sounded like a teenager causing Bette to break out into laughter.
“I’m an expert at what?” Bette asked as she watched Angelica bounce out of the room and head toward her bedroom to clean up the certain mess that was there.
“You don’t want to know.”
“Try me,” Bette challenged with a smile as she folded her arms across her chest. Tina smiled and sauntered up to her, licking her lips seductively as she stood on her tiptoes to whisper in Bette’s ear. She gently placed her hand on Bette’s shoulder, already feeling the tension between them.
“Alice said you’re an expert at pleasing women,” Tina continued despite Bette’s eyebrows shooting up in shock. Her breath caressed the skin around Bette’s ear and Bette closed her eyes relishing in the moment. “But if her theory is correct, you’re not an expert at that either. You’re an expert at making me come so hard I scream my head off, with every touch from your fingers, and from every stroke of your tongue.”
“God I missed you.” Bette leaned in and ran her tongue over Tina’s lips until she felt Tina deepen the kiss by opening her mouth, granting Bette access as she threw her arms around Bette’s neck.
“It’s 8:00,” Tina mumbled against Bette’s lips as she began to nibble on them seductively.
“What is?”
“Angie’s bedtime,” Tina said with a smile, “it’s at 8:00 and you better be in bed by 8:05.”

Kit sheltered her eyes against the blazing sun as she walked through the sandy beach toward the obscenely loud classical music. When she stepped out of the sand and onto the walkway leading to the house, Kit shook her feet to remove as much sand as possible from inside her sandal.
“This is exactly what I had expected,” Kit mumbled as she rang the doorbell knowing full well that the homeowner would never hear her over the music. “Why do I bother?”
Kit followed the walkway toward the back of the house, where the music seemed to be playing louder, and stopped just as the house opened up to the inside. There, making bold strokes with her paintbrush and amazingly vibrant watercolors on a canvas, was Maxine Porter. Kit could tell her step-mother anywhere, the way she carried herself, the hair that matched her sister’s in so many ways.

Dang it Gumby! First you have me laughing at the trouble Alice will get in for her big mouth…I mean who says something like that around a child? Then you have me thinking it’s too late for Maxine, because Bette will be devastated when she not only finds out her mother is alive, but that Kit knew and didn’t tell her, but then you pull it all together and make me want Maxine to try!! Because no matter how much pain they all go through…knowing your mother loves you is SO worth it. :-) Thanks!!
i sense something is going to happen…i’m just not sure if it’s good or bad…i hope we won’t get too much drama

Hey Gumby and Proofie, awesome chapter. Alice will never learn to keep quiet about others’ life. I am torn about Maxine. I think that she should try with Bette but Bette needs to do what is right for her and her family.

Oh the warm fuzzys I have from B&T that immediately went to putting the defensives up betweein Kit and Maxine. I can see both sides it’s going to be hard. Great stuff
I am LOVING this story, but I feel that Kit is a bit out of line. It’s for Bette to decide if she wants or needs her mother back in her life. Bette will be mad at both, but Kit should be careful because she could get the worst of it. Bette is both a daughter and a mother now. There is an old saying “You are your parents child from the womb to the tomb”. Having lost a parents, I know it goes beyond the tomb. Bette should be the one to make this decision. Huck, Angie may like having a grandma. PPS :o).
Gosh!!!What a s*t hey. Alice is in big trouble lo.I think Maxine still has a chance. It will be a tough time for all of them but Angie deserves to know her grandma, Bette to have a quality time and catch up time with her mother, Tina to know her mother-in-law, Kit to make peace with her step-mother and the other members of the family to just enjoy the joy and jhappiness Maxine would brought to the clan. It won’t be easy, I know that but I guess she is losing nothing by trying. PPVS
Hi Gumby, Great to have another fantastic chapter of this must read story.I love how you flip between Bette’s return to Tina and Angie with Kit’s discussion with Maxine about her possible return.It is wonderful to have Bette and Tina in a happy and healthy adult partnership. Bette is supporting her family and providing herself with sufficient challenges to sustain her. Angie was adorable and a right little tell-tale with her repeated of Auntie Alice’s choice statement.The need and heat between Bette and Tina is building as they deserve some alone time. I can’t wait till 8:05…Kit is looking out for her sister is trying to keep Maxine away but I feel the die is cast and Maxine should made herself known to Bette.I think that Bette would welcome her Mother once all the hurt and dust has settled.A connection to your past is always interesting.Whatever happens I know it will be a great ride.Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
