    Love’s Recovery

Tina turned quickly as she heard the sound of Bette’s keys hitting the pavement outside their front door.  As Bette whispered an explicit remark, she couldn’t contain her smile any longer.  She bellowed for Angelica, who was feeding her stuffed dogs imaginary waffles in her room that Mama B had arrived.  Bette had no chance as she opened the door, hardly seeing the blur that was Angelica heading toward her and knocking her back against the entrance into the house.

“Mama B!”  Angelica squealed in delight, bringing an even brighter smile to Tina’s face.  Bette thankfully caught Angelica midair as she hurled herself toward her mother.  “I missed you!”

“And I missed you!” Bette began to shower Angelica with kisses on every inch of her face causing Angelica to break out into laughter.  “I missed Mama T, too.”  The look in Bette’s eyes as they scanned over Tina’s body was enough to cause Tina to shiver in what she hoped was anticipation for later in the night.

    “How was your trip, Babe?”

“Exhausting.”  Bette gently brushed her lips against Tina’s with a small grin plastered on her face.  “But you’ll be happy to know that I flat out refused Phyllis trying to force me onto a plane on Monday morning so I get to stay home for a while.”

“You have no idea how happy that makes me,” Tine purred as she brushed up against Bette’s arm seductively.

“Believe me, I know.”  Bette turned her attention to Angelica who was squirming in her arms.  “And how was your week?”

“Auntie Alice says that you need to be interviewed by her for The Chart.”

“Oh really?”  Bette arched her eyebrow wondering where this conversation was going, fearing the worst given Alice’s sense of humor.

“She said that you’re not an expert at art.”

“Ok,” Tina quickly threw her hand up to stop the progression of the conversation, “that’s enough, Angie.”

“And why did Auntie Alice say this?”

“Because she says that someone can only be an expert in one area,” Angelica continued, sounding like a miniature Alice which made Bette cringe.  “She said you’re an expert at pleasing…”

“Enough,” Tina said abruptly, taking Angie out of Bette’s arms and mentally reminding herself to choke Alice the first opportunity she got.  “Go clean up your room while Mama B gets settled in for dinner.”

    1. Dang it Gumby! First you have me laughing at the trouble Alice will get in for her big mouth…I mean who says something like that around a child? Then you have me thinking it’s too late for Maxine, because Bette will be devastated when she not only finds out her mother is alive, but that Kit knew and didn’t tell her, but then you pull it all together and make me want Maxine to try!! Because no matter how much pain they all go through…knowing your mother loves you is SO worth it. :-) Thanks!!

    2. Bendy, Bendy, Bendy….fan fic writing again…how did I not know the second you decided to start again, hehe :-) Wonderful as usual. Welcome back my bendable friend!!!!

    3. OMG! Fab. So good to read one of your stories again! So looking forward to reading that first meeting between Bette and Maxine, because it will won’t it?? And Tina will be there supporting her won’t she??

    4. Hey Gumby and Proofie, awesome chapter. Alice will never learn to keep quiet about others’ life. I am torn about Maxine. I think that she should try with Bette but Bette needs to do what is right for her and her family.

    5. I love this story and I can’t wait for more, Gumby !! You’re so incredibly gifted you never disappoint us ! Thanks you for sharing this with us. PPS !

    6. Blow me over with a feather yay ur back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome start and this is going to kill bette how could you do that to me I don’t like maxnie at all but I know when your a parent there are no easy answers and only 3 pages come on

    7. Oh the warm fuzzys I have from B&T that immediately went to putting the defensives up betweein Kit and Maxine. I can see both sides it’s going to be hard. Great stuff

    8. I am LOVING this story, but I feel that Kit is a bit out of line. It’s for Bette to decide if she wants or needs her mother back in her life. Bette will be mad at both, but Kit should be careful because she could get the worst of it. Bette is both a daughter and a mother now. There is an old saying “You are your parents child from the womb to the tomb”. Having lost a parents, I know it goes beyond the tomb. Bette should be the one to make this decision. Huck, Angie may like having a grandma. PPS :o).

    9. Gosh!!!What a s*t hey. Alice is in big trouble lo.I think Maxine still has a chance. It will be a tough time for all of them but Angie deserves to know her grandma, Bette to have a quality time and catch up time with her mother, Tina to know her mother-in-law, Kit to make peace with her step-mother and the other members of the family to just enjoy the joy and jhappiness Maxine would brought to the clan. It won’t be easy, I know that but I guess she is losing nothing by trying. PPVS

    10. Hi Gumby, Great to have another fantastic chapter of this must read story.I love how you flip between Bette’s return to Tina and Angie with Kit’s discussion with Maxine about her possible return. It is wonderful to have Bette and Tina in a happy and healthy adult partnership. Bette is supporting her family and providing herself with sufficient challenges to sustain her. Angie was adorable and a right little tell-tale with her repeated of Auntie Alice’s choice statement. The need and heat between Bette and Tina is building as they deserve some alone time. I can’t wait till 8:05…Kit is looking out for her sister is trying to keep Maxine away but I feel the die is cast and Maxine should made herself known to Bette.I think that Bette would welcome her Mother once all the hurt and dust has settled.A connection to your past is always interesting.Whatever happens I know it will be a great ride. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
