    the light of home

     

    “Give me a little credit here.  I went by the deli and picked her up a large fruit salad,” Alice smirked at Bette.  “Damn I’m good” she muttered as she began to eat once more.

     

    “Do you think we should wake Tina up?” Bette asked softly.  “Never mind, that was a really stupid question since she now has her very own personal alarm clock.”

     

    “That kid definitely has a serious set of pipes.  She must have picked that gene up from your side of the family,” Alice laughed loudly.

     

    As they were finishing their meal Liza began to cry.  Bette jumped up from the table and ran to the nursery.  Alice stood up and slowly walked behind her.

    “You know you are a little on the old side to be running like that Bette,” Alice said sarcastically, “besides unless you are going to give her one of yours I kinda’ have to think that she needs Tina to eat,” Alice said as she stood smiling at Bette.

     

    “Actually Alice I was going to let her try yours since you seem to be the one fascinated with breast feeding,” Bette laughed.  “Plus it will take a while for her to realize there’s no supper in there.”

     

    Suddenly Alice didn’t find the sight of Bette holding a very hungry newborn in front of her amusing and she once again crossed her arms tightly across her breast.

     

    “I swear Alice we will need to buy you a smaller bra when we get back to L.A. if you keep grabbing at them any time nursing is mentioned,” Bette said laughing.  “Actually I just thought that I might try to keep her quiet for just a little while longer so that Tina can rest a few minutes more.”

     

    “Can’t you just bottle some of Tina’s milk and store it for her?” Alice asked seriously.

     

    “When Tina starts to produce more milk she can do that using a breast pump,” replied Bette as she carried Liza toward the living room.

     

    “Breast pump now that sounds lovely,” grimaced Alice.

     

    Alice sat down on the couch next to Bette.  “Hey Alice do you really think there is any chance for me to get my family back?” Bette asked as she stared down at Liza.

     

    Seeing the love on Bette’s face while she looked down at her daughter Alice considered telling her about Tina and Sheri.  Thinking better of it and remembering her promise to Tina, she decided against it.

     

    “Look all I know is that a love like the two of you have is almost impossible to find and when you do find it you should do whatever it takes to keep it alive.” Alice said quietly.  “I never allowed myself to believe in forever until I saw you two together but it’s not going to be easy and don’t expect it to happen overnight.  Deep down inside though I truly believe that you guys can fall in love all over again and although things will never be the same –  maybe they can be better.”

    1. I have been a silent reader for a while. I have to tell you that I have been totally enjoying your story. I know that B & T have a ways to go, but they do belong together.

    2. I was really excited when I saw that you had posted. I am enjoying this story. I certainly don’t condone cheating but for some reason with BP I find myself willing to forgive but only one time. If there is a second time then don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

    8. “I never allowed myself to believe in forever until I saw you two together…” Yes, I guess that’s why we all love Bette and Tina and why we all root for them to be together.

    10. When I was younger, I also think cheating is unforgivable. But now I feel like if s/he sincerely regrets and wants us back, I may consider give him/her another chance. And if it’s Bette Potter, I’ll definitely give her another chance. LOL. And Bette and Tina’s case is not a simple cheating. They both contributed to the mistake and Bette never thought of covering it or telling lies, so… It’s so different as what Tina will do in Season 3. :'(

    11. Even we of the smart-ass persuasion appreciate a bit of hope ever now and again. Tina should ‘fess up about Sheri. And yeah, what’s with Alice being wise and stuff?

    12. I am glad you are a hopeless romantic with our girls! I know that cheating is a hard thing to forgive but every relationship is different. I think I could forgive. So thank you for this story.

    14. “Please leave them on,” replied Tina softly. As Bette closed the door Tina whispered quietly, “I want you to be able to follow the light home.”Now that was my favorit part it really is so romantic. I wish Bette had heard her so there could be a little flamey light in her heart. Great chapter.

    15. “I want you to be able to follow the light home”, damn I wanted to cry. This story just keep getting better. Of course theirs going to be some bumps along the way, but those two love each other like the rest of us can only hope for, not only do they belong together, its their destiny. Please update again soon.

    20. Happy that you posted. I’m not condoning cheating, but since it is fiction — I’m truly a romantic when it comes to Bette & Tina. Let’s hope that Tina can allow herself to heal the pain that Bette caused. Thanks for the chapter, please post soon.
