    Chapter 54:

    Bette and Tina are doing well under the circumstances.  Both are committed to calling and texting whenever possible.  Bette would go away for games and she would call Tina as soon as she was back in her bed.  Bette was determined to let Tina know that she was fully in this relationship.  While Bette may have been teased a bit by her team mates, she felt that was just was she had to endure to give Tina peace of mind.

    Tina decides to go to the movies with Janet.  She figured the movie will be letting out around the same time Bette will be calling.  They just came out of the theater and Tina was looking at her phone to make sure she didn’t miss her baby’s call.

    “Tina, you want to head over to the teen club?”

    “No Janet, that place is tired.  I’m going home.  Bette will be calling me after she gets home from her road trip.”

    “Oh you’re such a dutiful girlfriend.”

    “Don’t be jealous.  If you had a girl like Bette wouldn’t you do the same?”

    “Of course I would, she’s fucking gorgeous.”

    “Hey!” Tina said tapping Janet on the arm.  “That’s my gorgeous girlfriend you’re talking about.”

    Stanford

    “Hey B.  You coming to the Playhouse with us?”

    “Now?”  Bette said looking at her watch.  The team just returned from a road trip and it is almost 11 at night.  Bette knows Tina is expecting her call.

    “Um maybe I’ll meet you guys in a few.”

    “Yeah right.  You’re going to go check in with the wife and then we won’t see you until tomorrow.  She’s got you wrapped around her little finger doesn’t she?”

    “Shut up, Erica.  You’re just jealous.  I see how you drool over her picture over my bed.”

    “Well Bette I can’t help it.  It’s a fucking poster!”

    “So!  It’s a good picture and I wanted to be able to see her before I go to bed and her face is the first thing I see when I awake.”

    “Aaw thats so sweet.”

    “Punk.”  Bette said throwing a pillow at her room mate.

    “I hope to see you there B.  You deserve it after the game you had today.”

    “I’ll catch up with you.”  Bette said finally reaching for her phone.

    3. What’s most important, Bette? Some cheap meaningless fuck to feed your ego… Or… To be someone who is trusting, honest and has some integrity and takes her words to her girlfriend seriously? You have to decide and take the consequences along with your decision. You can never go back once you cross that line.

    4. I agree with you talaula. We get blamed for so much by others not wanting to see their own truth in the mirror. I know that Bette as been quite sexually active in trying to find the right one for herself. Now that she had Tina in her life, she should try and be good for her. Its so easy to fall into the pit of promiscuity but for Tina’s sake I hope that she doesn’t as the potential is there for a good relationship. But they are both so young and have life ahead of them. I guess we shall see where the story goes.

    5. My goodness, how many times does a person have to say no, before she is believed. But then again, if it is not said with conviction, all bets are off, and I have feeling, that Bette’s phone and pitcure taking is going to come back and bite her in the butt, so to speak, when somebody takes a picture of her with another girl and send it to Tina. Drama rama ahead for the girls.

    7. Bumsue, you’re giving Bette too much credit. She has no integrity. She’s already fallen. I’ve seen this scene unfold many times, mostly by those breeding bigots who want to deny us marital equality. They break their vows all the time, and claim that gay promiscuity defies the sacred union between a man and woman. You may join their ranks Bette. Thanks for the post 👍
