Love and Basketball Chapter 33
“Baby you ok?” Bette stopped moving briefly until Tina opened her eyes again. She looked at her beautiful girlfriend.
“I’m so lucky to have you.” Tina said with tears in her eyes.
“Baby what’s the matter?”
Tina knew she had to say what’s been on her mind lately. She wasn’t sure if the time was right.
“Baby please tell me.”
“I’m scared.” Tina finally says and as she covers her face and cries.
Bette is really worried now. She immediately pulls Tina’s hands away from her face and starts to wipe Tina’s tears.
“What are you afraid of sweetie?”
Tina composes herself and just blurts out, “What am I going to do when you leave me Bette?”
Bette sat up and leaned against the headboard. She had been thinking about next year as well. Truth be told, she was avoiding the topic.
“Tina before I fell in love with you, I had it all figured out. I would make it through high school with a 3.5 or better and get a basketball scholarship to a Division I or Ivy league school. Then after an illustrious collegiate career, I would get drafted to the WNBA. I never factored in meeting the love of my life in my senior year of high school.” Tina looked down and Bette lifted Tina’s face to look her in the eyes.
“But I’m so glad that I did find you T. I haven’t made up my mind yet. I could still end up at Stanford which is not very far away.”
“What if you decide to go to Connecticut? What then? Do you really think you can do a long distance relationship?”
“Tina, I have asked myself that at least 100 times since I first told you I loved you. It would be a very new situation for me and I honestly don’t know what I am capable of. I just know that I love you more than anyone else I have ever known and I do not want to lose you.”
“I love you too. I don’t want you to choose the school here just because of me. But B, the thought of you being on the other side of the country scares me because I don’t know what our future holds.”
“Baby, I know that I love you and I don’t plan on losing you just because I go to school. So let’s just take it one day at a time, because I have no intention on letting you go baby.”
Tina was visibly relieved. “I’m so glad to hear you say that Bette. I love you too and I don’t plan on giving you up either.”
They fall asleep cuddled up in each others arms content for now and hoping their young love with be enough to sustain them.

Thanks for the amazing update on this great story. I know that drama is sometimes needed to keep a story going. But can we please keep this one at a minimum, and let our girls both give Helena a what for and let everyone know that Bette and Tina belong to each other.
let them stay together please.Thank you for the update,PPS
Absolutely love this story had alot to catch up on. I wonder where bette will decide to go to college and if Tina can cope with that decision. It seems these girls have a lot more huddles to jump over they end up at the finish line. Great story as always
Awesome update!!!
Thanks for the awesome update, I’m kind of anxious about the drama.
A difficult situation. Long distance is never fun when your heart is across the country. I’m glad the girls were able to talk about it. They love each other so much. Thanks for the post :)
