    Im sorry.. Bette said simply do you want me to stop?

    No..we have to get through this if were going to have any future..

    So..what do you want to hear? said Bette confused by Tinas reactions, desperately needing some guidance from her on which way to go What do you want me to say?

    I dont want you to SAY anything Bette Tina said her voice slightly louder I want you to understand how hard that was for me. How hard it still is for me to hear about you ..and and ..her

    Bette looked at Tina, tried to find the right words to tell her she did understand some of how she felt I understand..believe me I understand..Ive punished myself every day since you left..

    Do you Bette? Do you really know what its like to stand there and see the person you thought youd spend the rest of your life withwith someone else? Loving someone else? To imagine them sharing the little intimacies that you thought were exclusive? Tina said in a hard, quiet voice, a piece of her wanting to lash out and hurt Bette in retaliation for all the hurt shed been through.

    Im sorry Bette said again knowing it seemed inadequate in the face of Tinas pain All I can do is promise you itll be different if you give me another chance..

    Tina was quiet.

    That is why you came back isnt it? Bette said desperately, afraid shed misread it somehow To give me another chance .. not just to punish me..

    Tina looked at Bette Yes..it is..isnt it she said but it sounded as if she was trying to convince herself.

    After a moment Tina smiled wickedly Was she as good in bed?

    But the moment the words left her lips she regretted them. Why had she said that? To hurt Bette? To upset her? Whatever shed tried to do she could see shed succeeded as the expression on Bettes face flitted from shock to anger and then confusion. Then just as urgently Tina realised that Bette might answer the questions and, God, she didnt want to hear the answer. She shook her head, held up her hand No..dont answer that question..

    Bette didnt know how to proceed; nor did Tina. There didnt seem to be any recognised etiquette for what one said to a lover you were trying to reconnect with after one of them had cheated.

    7. Oz..great chapter again. I’m loving every moment of it. There is a balance of heartwarming moments and at the end some heartfelt scenes which made your story a good read. This chapter is a starting point of perhaps a reconcilation between Bette and Tina. It’s great to see Bette has changed for the better and is trying hard to reconnect with Tina.

      As per the title of your story “food for thought”, Tina should be sure if she wants to be back with Bette as there is another party involved too here. She should also choose her words wisely as more harsh words exchanged between them won’t really better the situation and the relationship but it might be actually worsening it…

      Oz, I will be waiting for your next chapter to see how Bette and Tina’s relationship goes. As always, please continue..:)

I LOVE THIS Story you’ve captured something so special the tenderness and now the reality of dealing with the heartache and pain that has brought them to this moment.     10. Wow – Tina just cut right to the chase, didn’t she? And then she asked the ultimate question…Bette has a lot on her plate to deal with. Her lover is back after 3 years, she has a child she never knew about.
      The interaction between them seems unpredictable, as real life would be. Sparks are flying!

    12. I know we were lucky to have 2 great posts, but I’m greedy and still need more. I’m glad they are having this conversation. These ladies have a lot to work out. I hope Tina is able to get past bette’s mistake.
