Listen to your heart – Ch7
Later that evening Bette and Tina stood side-by-side in Bettes kitchen pulling out the cutlery and crockery they needed while Emily played happily under foot.
Tina halted her movements as Emily reappeared from inside a cupboard a bewildered expression on her face.
Gone.. Emily said.
Tina knelt down beside her. She looked into the cupboard trying to see what a child would see and suddenly she realised what Emily had been expecting to find.
She looked up at Bette, whod frozen in place, and she burst out laughing. Bettes beautiful face held a mirror image of her daughters puzzled look.
She reigned in her amusement Mom keeps her candy jar on the bottom shelf of the cupboard… Tina explained she lets Emily pick one treat each day if shes been a good girl.
Bette folded her long legs and sat on the floor beside them. Oh.. I see she said softly, a serious expression on her face Well I think I can fix that.. she reached over and took a large jar out of one of the cupboards, she looked at Tina Will this do? Is it big enough?
Tina laughed Bette thats huge.. how are you ever going to fill it..?
Bette winked at Emily Emeell help me wont you? she asked softly.
Emily nodded, crawled over to Bette and plopped down on her lap. Bette bent her head and kissed the dark curls. Well go tomorrow.. Bette said.
She slipped a small chocolate bar from her pocket, silently thanking Kit for pressing it into her hand before theyd left Maybe this will do for today she said handing it to Emily for later OK?
Emily grasped the chocolate bar in her hot little hands, she smiled and nodded, happy now she knew she wasnt going to miss out.
Tinas heart skipped a beat as she saw the two almost identical dark curly heads close together. Things were progressing so rapidly, it seemed too good to be true.
Tina was frightened by the enormity of the chance she was taking. Drawn by the possibilities if things could work out but terrified of the pain shed have to face if it failed.
And, as she was all too aware, this time it wasnt only her heart that she was risking. She felt torn in two, one part wanting to force things to slow down and the other telling her to close her eyes and taking a flying leap and at the moment the latter option was winning.

Its hell to love someone,so much that you can’t have a life Bette and Tina needs to be together, only if they can love and repect each other, and they need to be right on this one because of the baby. thanks
Oz, how can you leave us hanging like that? These two need to get through the discussion and move on.
This is a great story sorry I haven’t had a chance to comment more often but it’s hard at work..Please continue You are an excellent writer
We all need to get through this discussion in one piece: Bette, Tina, and their many adoring fans. We are witnessing what we have yet to see on the show. Superb writing…please post soon!
Oh man all this years Tina still in pain and now she have a talk with Bette, this is the hard time for both of them to work thing out. Post soon, thank you!
Ok i just caught up with all the chapters… love this story.. pls continue
Oz..great chapter again. I’m loving every moment of it. There is a balance of heartwarming moments and at the end some heartfelt scenes which made your story a good read. This chapter is a starting point of perhaps a reconcilation between Bette and Tina. It’s great to see Bette has changed for the better and is trying hard to reconnect with Tina.
As per the title of your story “food for thought”, Tina should be sure if she wants to be back with Bette as there is another party involved too here. She should also choose her words wisely as more harsh words exchanged between them won’t really better the situation and the relationship but it might be actually worsening it…
Oz, I will be waiting for your next chapter to see how Bette and Tina’s relationship goes. As always, please continue..:)
I’ve literally been thinking about this story hoping you’d post. I LOVE THIS Story you’ve captured something so special the tenderness and now the reality of dealing with the heartache and pain that has brought them to this moment. I am really looking forward to more. THank you for sharing this excellent story. I’m patiently waiting for more.
Ouch…Tina’s still in pain. Bette’s changing, but hopefully she realizes this.
Wow – Tina just cut right to the chase, didn’t she? And then she asked the ultimate question…Bette has a lot on her plate to deal with. Her lover is back after 3 years, she has a child she never knew about.
The interaction between them seems unpredictable, as real life would be. Sparks are flying!
Thanks for updating the story!
I look forward to the next chapter!
Great story. Please keep them talking so they can work through this. Can’t wait for the next chapter!
