"I know buddy and I am so lucky to have you guys." Jess said.

"I love that song you were singing. I think I have heard it before." Ian said.

"I used to sing it to you guys when you were babies and wouldn’t go to sleep." Jess said. Ian climbed up on the window seat and sat opposite Jess, Teddy and Angelica.

Shannon was awake lying in the bed watching them.

"Is mommy really never coming home?" Ian asked. With that question Shannon got and joined them on the window seat.

"That’s the consensus." Jess said under her breathe.

"No buddy she’s not." Shannon said shooting Jess a look. She knew that Jess didn’t fully believe that Bette was gone and until she was found Jess would cling to the hope that she was out there somewhere.

"Is that why Mama hit sissy?" Teddy asked.

"She didn’t mean to. She just misses Mommy so much that she just let it slip." Jess said.

"She didn’t say she was sorry." He replied.

"But I am very sorry and I will never do it again. I promise." Tina said rubbing Jess’s hair. She had been listening to their conversation sense they were singing.

"I know you didn’t mean it. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have run off but I just couldn’t take all of those people looking at me the way they were." Jess said.

"I shouldn’t have made you be around them when all you wanted was to be alone." Tina said.

"I still miss Mommy." Ian said.

"We all do. We just have to be strong for each other now. It is what she would want." Shannon said.

"Does that mean I can’t fight with sissy or Ian?" Teddy asked.

"No it just means that we need to always be there for each other, and give each other extra love." Tina said pulling him into her arms.

"I am going to transfer back here to UCLA after this semester. I only have a month and then I will be back here with you guys." Shannon said.

"Oh Honey you don’t have to do that. I don’t want you to sacrifice for anything." Tina said.

"Mama I want to do this. I have to this for my family. I don’t want to be apart from you guys any more." Shannon said looking at them all. Tina was crying.

"Mama don’t cry." Ian said.

"Oh honey they are happy tears. Lets make each other a promise to only cry happy tears from now on." Tina said. Everyone agreed. Ian laid his head on her shoulder. "Come on guys lets go to bed." Tina said.

"Will you sleep with us?" Jess asked.

"Of course I will, but lets go downstairs so we will all have more room." Tina said.

"We can’t." Teddy said.

"Why not?" She asked.

"Because it smells like Mommy down there and it makes me think that she is still there and I get sad again." Ian said.

"Okay then we will sleep up here." Tina said. They climbed into Jess’s bed. They were all on top of each other but they didn’t care. Jess remained on the window seat. Teddy and Ian were as close to each other as they could get and Angelica was next to Shannon. After everyone was settled Tina noticed Jess missing form the bed.

"Aren’t you coming?" Tina asked. Jess looked at her and then to the sky again.

"Yeah." She said. She closed the window and climbed into bed next to Tina. Tina wrapped her arms around Jess and they slowly drifted off to sleep.
