“Can I talk to you?” Jess said.

“You know you can. But why arent you in school?” Kit asked.

    “I got suspended.” Jess said.

    “You what.” Kit said.

“I said I got..” Jess said.

“I heard you the first time. Let s go in the office.” Kit said. Jess followed Kit into the office and sat on the couch.

    “Okay what happened?” Kit asked.

“Shannon and I were late today because she wanted to talk. We got caught and suspended for being late too many times.” Jess said.

“That is not that bad.” Kit said.

“No but there is more and when Mom finds out she is going to kill me.” Jess said.

“I am sure what ever it is she will understand.” Kit said.

“Yes she will.” Jess said. “I got to go.” She got off the couch and headed for the door.

“Jess wait. Why dont you tell me what it is and we will find a way to work it out together.” Kit said.

“Im sorry I cant. I thought I could but I cant.” Jess said. She walked out of the planet and took off running. Kit followed her out of the office.

“What is going on?” Alice asked.

“I dont know she wouldnt say. She got suspended today. I think she had a fight with Bette.” Kit said.

“You think I should follow her?” Alice asked.

“No, She is like Bette she will tell when she is ready.” Kit said.

    Hours Later- Cemetery

Bette pulled up beside Lillys truck. Lilly was leaning against the Truck. Bette got up and walked up beside her.

“Where is she?” Bette asked. Lilly pointed across the way to Jess who was sitting next to Andys grave. Bette started to walk to her.

“She comes here two or three times a week. Did you know that?” Lilly asked.

    “No.” Bette said.

“I caught her about three weeks ago.” Lilly said. “She said she just likes to come here and sit.”

“I thought she didnt like to come here. Thats why we quit coming.” Bette said.
