"I know." Jess said and leaned on Tina’s shoulder.

"Do you want the last piece?" Tina asked. Jess shook her head no.

"How come you never talk about the people that you went out before Mom?" Jess asked.

"What makes you ask that?" Tina asked.

"I don’t know. I guess it’s just being here. I know all about Mom’s past and the people she dated mainly because I was there, but I don’t know that much about your past. I know some but not all the details." Jess said.

"I guess that’s because you grew up with people for Mom’s past and not mine. I mean Chris is in San Francisco but we don’t see them that much. I guess what I am trying to say is what do you want to know?" Tina said.

"I don’t know anything specific. Just tell me something." Jess said. Tina sat the plate down and thought for a minute as they swung in the moon light.

"When I was 14 Nick and I sneaked down to the river and made out all night on Dad’s boat until the Captain busted us. I was mortified, but Dad was cool about it. He didn’t tell mom, instead he just told us not to sneak around anymore." Tina said.

"Then how come you guys weren’t so cool." Jess said.

"Excuse me." Tina said.

"What you guys freaked out when you caught me and Justin making out the first, second and third time." Jess said.

"I didn’t freak out Mom did and you know that." Tina said.

"Yeah. I guess." Jess said.

"Maybe we did a little, but we were just trying to protect you." Tina said.

"I know, that’s why I didn’t give you such a hard time tonight." Jess said.

"You had to bring that up didn’t you." Tina said.

"Of coarse. I want to know how you talked Mom into it. Wait never mind." Jess said.

"I thought so. You were pretty cool tonight. I think you may have grown up." Tina said.

"Let’s just say that I know what it’s like to love somebody like you and Mom love each other." Jess said.

"I am glad you found your special some one." Tina said.

"I am glad you found us." Jess said.

"Me too." Tina said.

"Do you ever think about what your life would be like if you and Mom hadn’t met?" Jess asked.

"It would be awful. I would probably be living in an apartment with a bunch of animals or I would be so buried in my work I wouldn’t ever see the outside world. Do you think about it?" Tina said.

"Once or twice but I didn’t like what I see. I would probably be so sheltered I wouldn’t know what to do with myself without supervision." Jess said.

"You’re probably right. You know Mom is having a hard time with you moving out." Tina said.

"I know and she is just hiding it." Jess said.

"She is. You don’t know how happy she was when Cat told her that you guys were going to move in next door. It was everything I could do to keep her from coming over that morning." Tina said.

"Me too, because she would have gotten the shock of her life." Jess said.

"TMI" Tina said.

"Sorry." Jess said.

"Come on kiddo let’s go to bed." Tina said.

"You go I am going to stay out here for awhile." Jess said.
