"I know. Maybe we can get away for a weekend and go down to Charleston for a weekend after the party." Tina said.
"I like that idea." Bette said.
Inside.
"Goodnight Papa." Jess said to Buster who was watching the 4th quarter of a Carolina Football game.
"Goodnight girls." Buster said without looking at them. "Oh Come On, Bad Call." He said at the TV.
The girls went upstairs. Bette and Tina sulked into the front door.
"Got caught I see." Buster said as they walked through. Bette’s face turned red and her ears felt like she was on fire.
They picked up their pace back to their room.
"I can’t believe he knew." Bette said.
"He always knows." Tina said .
"Then why didn’t you tell me. That was so embarrassing." Bette said.
"If I told you, you wouldn’t have gone." Tina said with a grin.
"You got that right." Bette said.
Later….
Jess sat in the porch swing eating a piece of Josie’s famous pecan pie. She froze when she heard something moving on the porch.
"What are you doing out here?" Tina asked.
"Same thing you are." Jess said breathing a sigh of relief.
"And you got the last piece." Tina said.
"Want some?" Jess asked.
"I do." Tina said with a smile. She sat next to Jess on the swing. Jess handed her the plate and fork. "You want to talk about what you are really doing out here." Tina asked.
"Do you?" Jess asked.
"I think you know why I am out here." Tina said.
"I bet I do. It’s just different down here that’s all. I forget sometimes." Jess said.
"What happened?" Tina asked.
"Nothing. I got hit on by one of Piper’s friends. That hasn’t happened in a while." Jess said.
"That doesn’t happen back home?" Tina asked.
"No. I don’t really make it out of the lesbian community much, except at school, and everyone knows there." Jess said.
"So are you saying that you like being hit on by guys?" Tina asked.
"No! Definitely not. Its just different." Jess said.
"Yeah it is. I know it’s hard to be Out down here, but this community is better than others, and even though people around here may not follow LGB&T Issues doesn’t mean anything. Around here it isn’t out there. Here you have to go out and look for it and even them sometimes you can’t." Tina said.

Tina and Jess are so close. It has always been Tina that kept Bette and Jess on the right path. B&T getting caught was funny. Jess did a great job of taking up for them when Shannon said gross get a room. Shannon has been hanging around Alice to long.

You just don’t know how much I love this story…it can go on forever as far as I am concerned. I am glad you are all settled in, I hope you are able to find time to post…we won’t even discuss a final chapter *arms folded with a huff* I will just keep looking for a post.
