Life with Mom and Tina Ch 142

Jess walked into the room through the bathroom.

"Nay Nay have you seen my silver earrings?" Jess asked. Josie was a couple feet behind her.

    "Which ones?" Shannon asked.

"The ones Mama gave me." Jess said.

"I don’t know you are going to have to look." Shannon said.

"Nay Nay maybe you can talk some sense into your sister." Josie said.

"You know how hard headed she is." Shannon said.

    "Here they are." Jess said.

"I don’t understand." Josie said sitting down in the chair. Shannon and Bette were both giving Jess a look in the mirror. Jess was putting in her earrings.

"Look. I just don’t like being paraded around, that’s all." Jess said.

"What are you talking about?" Bette said.

"The reason I don’t like big family things. She asked and I told her." Jess said.

"What did mean by being paraded around?" Bette said.

"There are four other stars in this family. It shouldn’t be all about me. I don’t want it to be all about me." Jess said.

"Jess you know we don’t mind being in your shadow." Shannon said.

"You’ve said that before, and I believe you but I want to shine beside me not behind me." Jess said.

Jess had always been in the foreground of everything. She knew that Shannon had always walked a step behind her, and now Jess could see Ian and Teddy doing it too. She was even seeing those characteristics coming out in Angelica. She wanted the chance to walk behind them, to support them, to do what they wanted to do for once. Jess knew that going to that party was going to be like. It was going to be like every other big family thing. Every one would show her all the attention and not the rest, and for once in her life she didn’t want to be the center of attention.

"Will you go if we promise not to do that?" Josie asked. Bette, Shannon and Jess laughed. They saw could see a lot of Josie in Tina.

"Come on Jess. It’ll be fun. The party is lasting three days this year." Shannon said.

    1. You know, there are days I wish I was famous because a lot of people would know who I am. But then some days I think I wouldn’t want that because I would hate the idea of being followed to the toilet and other crazy stuff. So yeah I can understand Jess wanting to be left alone sometimes and let her siblings be in the spotlight.

    2. But Lamentamini…you are famous…YOU’RE A STAR! SUPERSTAR! I love this story…they whole family…the close knitness even when they fight…they are so passionate about their family.

    3. I’m always pleased when I see a post of you, I like the depth you’re putting in these characters. This time I was a bit disappointed because I really wanted you to finish this one “The movie is great in all aspects. I just…”. So please post soon
