    Leave the Memories Alone: Prologue

    Leave the Memories Alone

    Prologue.

Baby Jonathan had been crying all night long. His wails kept up his two mothers and his teenaged sister who was irritated beyond belief. They were lucky they lived in a four-story Victorian house in the upmarket part of Hammersmith, West London. It was a large house with a large garden backing onto the Thames river. They had fallen in love with this house the moment they had seen it. The good things was it was total detached so they never disturbed their neighbours in anyway.

Bette, being the birth mother of the 2 month old boy, tried to breast feed him, burp him, change him, play with him to tire him out, and even took him out for a drive on the solitary London streets, but nothing worked. Tina had the same problem with Angie when she was a baby and Bette always stayed up with her. Tina made sure to stay awake with her wife.

Angie, on the other hand, was at the ripe age of fifteen and simply complained and whined the entire night. She was only too happy to be heading off to school. When she walked down the stairs she saw that Jonathan was finally falling asleep in Bette’s arms, and the brunette herself was starting to doze off.

Tina was in the kitchen sipping her coffee and preparing Angie’s breakfast. She looked tired as hell but she knew if she didn’t make her daughter breakfast the stubborn mocha-skinned brunette would leave without eating. That was something she got from Bette.

Bette often did the same thing while running her high end gallery, but now since her retirement and her pregnancy she understood why Tina was so adamant about proper nutrition.

"Mum you look like Hell," Angie said gulfing down her eggs like a mad woman.

"Gee thanks," Tina scoffed rubbing her eyes.

"You’re not gonna take me to school looking like that are you?" Angie said.

"What?" Tina said looking down at herself.

"Polka dot pyjama pants and a hideous yellow T-shirt?" Angie said incredulously. "I was lucky enough to be in with the popular kids I’m not letting you ruin it."

"Jeez okay I’ll go change," Tina said.
