Any conversations they’d had lately had been stilted, not because Helena said or did anything wrong, but because she was so careful all the time. On some level they both knew that Lara was channeling her anger and resentment into their relationship, resulting in Lara feeling guilty and Helena feeling helpless. Something had to change soon and they both knew it.
Kit hung up the telephone and sat in stunned silence for a moment. She’d just agreed to go to Las Vegas in the morning to work with Riley Stewart on Dreams Come True. Topping that off, there would be a camera crew documenting them for behind-the-scenes press coverage when the song was released. She’d forgotten just how quickly things happen in the music business.
Dana struggled with the last screw on the immersion blender while Alice drummed her fingers impatiently. She’d been so excited about having coffee that she’d accidentally put the batteries in backwards and managed to close the lid, which had jammed so tightly that Dana had no choice but to take it apart to free the batteries.
“You know you’d be having coffee already if we’d just gotten our asses in gear,” she chided as she managed to extract the final screw.
“Less talking, more fixing,” Alice answered, her eyes moving from the clock to the single serve French press and back again. The larger one was in pieces in the trashcan, the victim of Dana’s clumsy attempt to help Al.
“I really am sorry Al,” Dana said again.
“It’s okay, Dane,” Alice said, willing her to replace the damn screws more quickly. “We’ll get another one.” She poured some vanilla syrup into her KCRW traveler mug. “How surprised do you think everyone will be when we actually show up today?”
Al took the newly repaired Aerolatte from Dana and quickly foamed her milk before zapping it in the microwave for 20 seconds. In the meantime, Dana pushed the plunger in the French press and poured. The whole comedy of errors was forgotten as Dana watched Alice’s nearly orgasmic reaction to tasting her first latte in months.
The table filled quickly. Bette and Tina assumed their usual places at the far end. Angelica insisted on using her booster seat, declining an offer to join Wilson and Jun Ying at the movies. Beth and Shane arrived with an unrepentant Jenny in tow. Kit and Lara joined them with platters of quiche and crab cakes, accompanied with a fresh fruit salad and warm strawberry muffins. Lara quickly and graciously apologized as she personally walked the muffins around the table. Jenny stared at her blankly and applied a generous amount of butter to her muffin.

I appreciate the warnings. Excellent chapter. Wow. Let’s see… Bette and Tina: They seem to be standing strong for the moment. Love the artwork they made with the kids. Angie is just too cute with her Day-Day obsession. Helena and Lara: I hope Lara listens and they are able to work through their current problems. Kit: I am happy things seem to be going so well for her. Jenny: Feel free to ship her back wherever she came from — the Carmen thing was cold. Shane/Beth/Carmen: Shane and Beth just seem to be finding a groove together. I hope Carmen doesn’t interfere with it — intentionally or unintentionally. Danish: They toy thing at the beginning was pure Danish as was the stuff with the French press. Too funny that Shane was afraid to ask why they needed a new one. Hee! Dana certainly was persistent with her horny hormones. Hot. They were having such a wonderful day until Dana started feeling those pains. Needless to say, I hope she and the baby are OK. The good thing is that she and Alice are very strong and I think they can make it through anything together. I am really looking forward to your next post to see what is happening with her. I echo MaGoose’s comment. Can we start calling D “Day-Day”? That’s awfully cute. What a way to end to end the chapter. I hope all the previous activities did not take a huge toll on D’s pregnancy. If they had to lay off some earth shattering sex for a while, so be it. Love this story and love your writing. Thank you very much as always!!

ok so here’s the deal, I haven’t read the chapter and I’m forcing my eyes not to drift down to the other comments below. What I’m going to do is start commenting on the chapter before I read this one because as you know I have no internet and I have to find a way to sneak it home from work. The last chapter was packed with amazing awesomem sex and drama and you never cease to amaze my ass…not literally but you do amaze me. I can’t wait to read today’s chapter we love and support you and I expect to see everyone supporting on the discussion boards Sammy has an artists spotlight coming up and we all need to support our amazing Danish writers most of them have been working hard for 4 years on lovely never-ending Danish I am eternally grateful :)

I love the bond Beth and Shane have formed, I’m positive it’s strong enough to get over this Carmen thing, although I like Carmen a lot so I hope they all stay friends!
