Just The Girl – Chapter Two (a HYD-inspired fic)

"Still haven’t let the issue pass, Al?" Shane sighed as she rubbed her sleepy face with her hands.

Alice sighed. "Well I did actually.. until I saw a small bruise on my leg after we went home last night.. err.. this morning." She lifted her pants a little and showed the teeny weeny bruise on her right leg. "I told Bette about it, and now here we are." Alice said as she jumped slightly to tap the ’2nd floor’ sign hanging from the ceiling at the landing.

"The lockers are downstairs on the first floor." Sam yawned as she stretched her arms out. "Why are we going to the third floor?"

"To get Shane’s espresso shot from the cart." Bette said matter-of-fact.

Alice nodded in agreement. "Yeah, so she can stop walking around campus like a fucking zombie."

Shane groaned and said something incoherent as she continued to lead the way up the stairs.

Dana closed the door to the Headmistresses office and jumped up excitedly towards Tina. "They put me in 4-B!" She smiled at her friend.

"Really? That’s great! We’re in the same class." Tina smiled from ear to ear.

Dana grabbed Tina’s arm excitedly and dragged her towards the food cart a couple of meters away. "Let’s celebrate!" She said as she slammed a couple of bills on the counter. "Two iced coffees please." She smiled at the server brightly. After a few minutes, they were served their coffee and the two clinked their plastic cups together and said ‘Cheers!’. They were laughing as they made their way to the stairs.

"Oh, I’m so excited Tina!" Dana exclaimed as she hugged her friend again.

Tina laughed, Dana’s happiness was so infectious. "Settle down, Dane." Tina giggled. "We’d better hurry or else we’re gonna be late."

"Oh? Right! Don’t want to make a bad impression on my first day in Redwind." Dana laughed as she pulled back from her friend. She did this quite abruptly, causing the blonde to freeze up in shock as she witnessed what happened next.

Dana didn’t notice that her coffee cup was only partially closed.. the server didn’t press down on the cover hard enough for it to snap and hold into place. So when she suddenly moved away from Tina, the contents of her cup went flying away from the container.

    1. Trust me, this story kicks so much ass. Some of you all know how much I tend to dislike long chapters, but this is the kind of story that if it was a book I wouldn’t be able to put it down until my eyes were unable to stay open.

    2. I don’t want Sam to get Tina because I think Bette needs Tina to show her what is really important. Plus c’mon Tina needs a woman with fire in her. Can’t wait to see the drama unfold.
