CHAPTER EIGHT: My Eyes Adored You
THURSDAY
University Art Gallery, Yale University.
Two brunettes stood side by side, enveloped in a bubble of contemplative silence as they examined the humongous piece of abstract art that was hanging on the wall. With long and delicate fingers stroking their chins, they began tilting their heads from left to right and looking at the work up and down. Interesting, they both thought. After a lengthy pause, they finally came to their own conclusions.
“It’s a leaf..”
“No,” Bette shook her head thoughtfully. “It’s a flower..”
“Leaf.”
“Flower.”
“Nah-uh.. I see a leaf.” Sam disagreed.
“Uh, no? It has petals you dimwit! Look!”
“I don’t think so. See the ridges here? It’s clearly a leaf.”
“Are you blind?! It’s baby pink. PINK!” Bette raised her voice in incredulity. “Have you ever seen a fucking pink leaf before?”
Sam thought about it for a moment. “A pink one? Yes. A fucking pink leaf? No.” She smiled slyly. “What do they do, fall on top of each other and hump in the wind after they’ve fallen off the tree?”
“Funny Samantha. Fun-ny.” Bette responded dryly, rolling her eyes. “Wait a minute, so you’ve seen a pink leaf?”
“Yes, I have.”
“Oh really? Where?” Bette challenged, arching a skeptical eyebrow and crossing her arms.
“Riiiiiiiiiiight.. here.” Sam pointed at the painting before them, looking all smug and clever.
“…”
“What? It’s a pink leaf!”
Bette glowered at her chuckling bestfriend. “Go away before I bash your stupid head on this painting and turn the pink leaf red with your own blood!” She snarled menacingly in annoyance, angered by the smartass grin adorning Sam’s face.
“See? I told you abstract art makes you violent. We should have gone to the nudes instead, at least they’re more fun to stare at and scrutinize.” Sam grinned, backing a safe distance from her temperamental friend. “Hey Shane?” She shouted at the thin brunette who was more than a little preoccupied with a piece of psychedelic art at the other side of the room. “What do you think this is?”
“Hm?” Shane asked, still quite distracted. Pulling herself together, she managed to shake herself free from being hypnotized by the swirling globs of rainbow paint. She blinked several times just to clear her vision of the colorful swirls. Man, that was like being on an acid trip. After a moment or two, she glanced behind her and looked at the painting that had sparked the debate between the two bestfriends. What did she think it was? Let’s see.. she pursed her lips in thought. The canvas was white, save for a weird pinkish shape at the middle that kinda reminded her of a.. hmm.. “A hairless vagina!” She shouted her opinion before returning her gaze to the mesmerizing piece of art that had her utterly enthralled.

Okay, I know she had it coming, but you had me feeling sorry for Kate. Suicidal, yes, but you have to admire someone who follows their heart, even if it gets their poor gibson smashed. You smashed a gibson! What is wrong with you? Thanks for the post, good luck on the foreign studies.
I love the way Bette loves Tina. I love a jealous Bette, and maybe a jealous Tina, But I love Bette and Tina the most. Please don’t let anyone come between them…
I love the fun and giggles. I love the loyal friends. I love the banter among the F4 and Tina. I love Bette with Melvin. I love Bette’s sense of dedication to the Porter companies. Most of all, I love besotted Bette. Well, maybe that isn’t quite right. Most of all I love your story. 40 pages? 400 pages next time!!!!!
Kate is very lucky, her instrument took the anger instead. we got rid of Kate Alch, Now its Jill ‘s turn. Tina will kill her for sure lol. This post was great, very funny as well. Can’t wait for the next

So glad to see an update to my Fav Fic. Great job by the way…Kate has some nerve signing to Tina & I love dhow Bette took care of the situation…so sexy. So now Tina ha ssomeone afetr her & I believe Bette will to with this Grisham lady…I smell trouble. Loved it!!!!!
Had to hold my breath the entire time Bette was confrontating the hobbit. That was hot beyond words..aherm. And seems like there are third parties all over the place…reminds me of a text message a friend sent me…it said something like “Not all parties are fun – by Third Party”.LMFAOL
Uhhh Ohhh, I take it that Jillian and Bette have met in the past. Not a good sign on Bette’s behalf. Kate is so lucky that Bette promised Tina to not kill her. Now we get to see a jealous Tina.
“Something she can’t – and probably won’t ever give her.” this is such an open statement, seems like Tina is curious…then again who won’t be. And then at the end of the chappy we have Bette who is facing temptation now. Man will they won’t they??!! It would be fun to see the drama if they both did. PPS
Hmmm…that just had alittle bit of everything to it! I so totally love jealous Bette (I remember the jealous Bette cookie..hehe!) Too many good scenes to comment on but I think you know my faves by now (maybe in a PM) Thank you for the funny Bette & Sam,they are delightful together. But of course the pouting Bette and “…” were my favorite piece. And now another hmmm on the horizon with Jillian? A jealous Tina is even better than a jealous Bette..this will be so fun. This story is the perfect antidote to rainy day blues. So funny… Kate’s been warned off, probably forever (I’ll admit to feeling sorry for her guitar though), now Tina’s maybe going to have to warn this Jill (*great* name, btw! ;) ) off her woman. Can’t wait for your next post, Alchemy. Thanks!

Your dialogue and style of writing is such a treat to read! So damn funny, as well as sexy and tender. The banter in the art gallery had me in tears and the giggles continues from there. I did feel bad for Kate though… especially with the guitar smashing. But how can anyone not love your Bette?? You seem to be brewing quite a bit of drama though… Kate…Jill…the nightmares… Can’t wait for your next post and here’s hoping for the 40+ pages!
Let me say this. I like a lot jealous Bette and I love jealous Tina! But I adore this couple together. And with Kate and Jill… well I smell trouble? I hope they will be together in the end. Anyway, about the chapter I laughed a lot with “…” and the conversation between F4. For another chapter you rivet our attention and thank you for that. You are incredible.
