    It was a Tuesday night

An awkward silence fell between them.

    “Shane?”

    “Yeah?”

“Can I ask you something?” Helena posed, serious and a bit shy all of a sudden.

“I don’t know why not?” Shane replied with a chuckle.

Helena waved her hand in front of her, “Don’t you get tired of this?”

    “Oh, absolutely.”

“Then why do you do it?”

“Oh…I guess it’s a distraction I’ve grown accustomed to.  And to be honest, I don’t “do this” as often as people think I do.  Sometimes I go for weeks without any social interaction except with close friends, of course.”

    “Mmm…ok.” Helena acquiesced.

“Can I ask you a question?”  Shane returned.

    “Sure.”

“What have you done for fun lately?”

“Well Shane, not a whole bloody lot, I’m sad to report.”

Chuckling, Shane replied, “Yeah I think that’s been going around.”

    “Sucks, doesn’t it?”

“Hey, can I get you another one?”

“Well thank you Shane, I’d like that.”

As Shane signaled to the bartender she and Helena fell into an easy conversation about work, friends and local happenings in West Hollywood.  The evening wore on and conversation became more difficult as the music grew louder.

The DJ played an eclectic mix of Latin, R& B, dance, trance, hip hop and slower ballads that had the crowd dancing fast, slow and everywhere in-between.  And if one chose not to dance the selection was wonderful just for listening.  After enjoying a few drinks, good conversation and decent music Helena and Shane were feeling pretty relaxed.

All of a sudden, a very uncharacteristic thought entered Shane’s mind as a sweet/sad Santana guitar melody rang through the air.

Leaning in to be heard Shane asked, “Helena, would you care to dance?”

“Sure” Helena replied, caught a bit off guard.

Shane followed Helena to the center of the floor and tentatively took Helena’s right hand in her left as she wrapped her right lightly around her waist. Helena slowly allowed her body to ease up close to Shane’s, leaning her forehead near to Shane’s cheek.

‘My God she smells good’ Shane thought to herself as a soft moan vibrated in her chest.

    1. Ok, not gonna lie, I’m pretty thrown by this combo. Don’t get me wrong, you write an amazing NC-17… I just… I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around Shane and Helena together.

    2. As your #1 Fan of “DRENCHED”, I decided to read this because you are a fabulous writer. (Amazing at NC-17) When I realized this was going to be about Shane and Helena, I was skeptical. Helena is HOT, but Shane is rail thin and doesn’t do much for me. But as I continued to read, you managed to work your LACOOP magic and I enjoyed it. I’m a TIBETTE die hard, but I look forward to reading more about your new coupling. PPS.

    3. One more thing….who dared you to put these two together in a story ? Come on Lacoop you can tell me….I won’t tell…LOL! Glad to see your back writing.

    4. Enjoyed the chapter and if you do more I’ll check it out, but really not too wild about either party. If Gwyneth Paltrow is “Shane’s” cousin, I suspect Olive Oyl is one from the other side of the family. And Rachshell? Well, just never has been engaging as far as I’m concerned. Neck’s kind of short, too. But hey, all God’s children deserve to have fun, so let ’em have it.

    5. As always with you, absolutely incredible. And totally believable. I don’t think I’ve read a pairing of these two together. I like it. A lot. Shane is always a good one to teach us all something new. (just a future thought–and only you could pull it off, what if Bette said yes in Washington? I bet that senator has a kinky side to her) Anyway, just a crazy thought, but I’m loving this. You truly are the best at this.

    6. It’s funny but earlier this week I thought Helena and Shane and shuddered, no way. As I read your story I could believe it. Looking forward to the rest of this unexpected and unlikely coupling

    7. Alright alright yes I did not leave a comment the first time I read this, but I’m leaving one now. PLEASE POST!!! I’m dying to read the rest of this. I think it’s hot and your doing an amazing job.
