    Helena is drunk. Bette is confused. Tina goes crazy. Megan and Carmen spend quality time.

    "I’m bigger than Shane. If she tries anything, I’ll knock her out." Carmen laughed as she pulled away.

    "I just haven’t been in the neighborhood in a long time. I kind of feel like a ghost or something."

    "You can always hang out here, if and when you feel comfortable enough. No rush."

    Megan had the warmest eyes. Though she was could steel herself, her eyes showed her feelings. Her eyes bared her soul. Carmen felt so comfortable with this young girl.

    "I’m sure I’ll be around here more often. I have something to come to."

    "And as long as I’m here, as a friend or otherwise, you always will." Megan blushed turning her face, "So where to?"

    "I wanted to check out this record store and then we can head over to my place, if that’s cool with you."

    "Yeah, for sure."

    Meanwhile…

    Bette’s head was splitting. Fucking Alice and Helena and their need to get her drunk as hell. Maybe she was the only one with a nine-to-five. She popped an asprin and sighed. She couldn’t stop thinking about all the things Helena said. Helena left that morning without saying a word to her about the things she said and hadn’t called her.


    How do you say things like that to someone and just act like you didn’t?


    "Bette, Tina on line one." James called.

    "Thanks, James." She picked up the phone. "Hi, Tina."

    "Hi. You mind telling me what Megan is doing with Carmen."

    "What?"

    "Your little sister is cruising around town with Carmen."

    "That’s Megan’s business."

    "What about Shane, Bette? Is she not your friend?"

    "Yes, she’s my friend, but what does my sister seeing Carmen have to do with that. You know, what I’m not going to argue with you. The night you decided you wanted some miscellaneous penis, leaving me with nothing, not even the child you told me we’d raise together, you lost the privilege of knowing the things that go on with my family."

    "But I have the right to know what’s going on in your life, as you are the other mother of my child. So, what’s up with you and Helena?"

    "Once again, that has nothing to do with you, Tina."

    "If you’re bringing random women around my daughter, I’d say it has everything to do with me."

    2. So far Megan has shown all signs of being a true Porter, if she continues through Carmen will be one satisfied woman. Bette and Helena are too funny together. Tina you made your bed so lay in it.

    3. Nice chapter I love B & H together, sure hope Helena remembers what she told Bette. Dang Megan is moving fast here …And wtf is Tina’s problem with Megan seeing Carmen, she hasno business in that as much as she has no business in Bette’s life no more. Shechoose to leave the woman not the other way around. I’d say grow up Tina and leave Bette the hell alone

    5. Hey ash I loved this chapter and loved Helena what she felt and needed to get out,,,and Bette in her own way loved it,IMO. As for Tina won’t say a word,,lol…And Megan sure is fast didnt waste a minute to be with Carmen and I dont blame her.

    10. Carmen should realized, once bitten there’s no turning back. Helena is a funny drunk, at least she let Bette know how she feels. Tina Tina Tina, get a life!
