Chapter 13

The girls have just left after the BBQ. They have had a great evening. Everyone got their minds off everything.
Bette and Tina are lying on the sofa, Bette is in Tinas arms and Tina is playing with Bettes hair.
This night was perfect Tee. Bette says as she glances up at Tina who smiles back. That was my plan. Tina smiled back.
Im getting really tired. Maybe we should get to bed? Bette asked.
Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. Tina says. Bette gets up and limp her way to the bathroom, Tina follows closely.
I need to change the bandages, could you get the bag, I think I left it in the bedroom. Bette says. Sure. Tina says and walks into the bedroom and comes back with the bag. Here, do you need my help? Tina asks
Yes, I think so. I dont think Ill reach all the way back. Bette replies. Tina put on some rubber gloves, and prepares to clean the stitches. She removes the old bandage and cleans. Then she put on a new bandage. There, youre all new. Tina says. How did the stitches look? Bette asks. They looked fine. Tina replies.
They both brush their teeths and then got into bed. Bette is lying on her left side, Tina is facing Bette. They hold hands.
You mean so much to me. Tina says as she looks Bette deep into her eyes.
Today was one of the happiest days of my life. Bette says.
Which one was the happiest? Tina asks and smiles
The day I met you, and the day you said yes to spend the rest of your life with me. Bette says and moves her hand up to Tinas face and softly touches her lips with her index finger. Then she leans in for a kiss.
Tina turns around and cuddles up into Bettes arms.
Love you, good night. Bette whispers into Tinas ear. Tina smiles to herself and closes her eyes.
The next morning Tina wakes up in an empty bed. Bette is nowhere in sight, but she hears some loud sounds coming from the kitchen. She gets out of bed and walks into the kitchen, where she sees Bette making breakfast. Shes making pancakes. Tina stops and looks at Bette for a little while. Bette hasnt noticed her yet. Tina smiles to herself.
Bette is struggling a little with the pancake-making.
*****. Bette says as she tries to flip the thing around. How does she do this without messing it up? She continues to talk to herself. Tina leans against the wall with her hands folded in front of her chest.
Bette then turns around and sees Tina standing there, now laughing. She cant help but laugh too. How long have you been standing there? She asks. Not long. Tina smiles and walks up to her and kiss her good morning. You didnt have to make breakfast, I couldve done it. Tina says. I wanted to do it for you, for you have been there for me these past months. I wanted to do this for you, even if it was just breakfast. Bette says. Thats nice, but please let me help you with that. Tina laughs and points at the pan that is all chaos. Bette smiles and looks defeated
Yeah, okay. Cooking isnt my strongest skill. Bette laughs.
Yeah, Ive noticed that. Tina smiles and kisses Bette on the cheek.
Now, go and sit down, Ill finish this. Tina adds. Bette sets the table before she sits down. Tina finishes up in no time, and places the pancakes on the table. So do you have any wishes for today? Tina asks.
Wishes? Bette asks. Yeah, what do you want to do today? Tina asks again. I dont know, just being close to you, is all I need. Bette says and smiles at Tina. I thought I might swing by the CAC today, to see how theyre doing. Bette continues. Sure, Ill drive you. Tina replies.
