Imitating Georgia O’Keeffe (6)
Bette’s POV
I sit in my office, gazing at different prints of Georgia O’Keeffe’s works, trying to focus on working, but it’s a hard thing to do when all you did all night long was making love to the most beautiful woman on the planet, your girlfriend.
And the fact that most of Georgia O’Keeffe’s pieces are dedicated to the female flower, yoni, makes it even harder. She is the one who said that “there’s something about women that, I feel, only a woman can explore” and I couldn’t agree with her more. As I look at the prints, I’m having a hard time concentrating on what I’m supposed to do and that is, choose the opening piece for the exhibition that starts off only in a month and a half. I feel it’s going to be a long one, especially if I’m as productive as today.
The moment I’m ready to start thinking about business, James enters to say that Tina is on the phone,
“Bette, there’s a Tina on line 2, saying that you have an idea who she is. She wouldn’t say her last name,” he utters with a puzzled intonation.
James, James, James. You still have a lot to learn about the person you work for. Just wait till Alice calls me and then you might have a general idea of where you are now.
“James, Tina is my life partner.”
“Oh.” He gasps. “Oh, your life partner.” And that’s about everything he can say. “Well uh, I’ll remember that.” He says, closes the door and leaves. I like him.
I pick up the receiver and hear Tina breathing on the other side.
“Hey there, babe,” I say.
“Hey, Bette. Are you busy?”
“No, I’m just trying to pull myself to do at least anything. Anything at all.”
“And why is that?” she inquires in that lovely pitch of hers.
“Because when I stare at the graphic and yet innocent pieces by O’Keeffe, working is the very last thing on my mind. But you know me. I’ll do it. Eventually.”
“Aww so are you thinking of me?”
“Yes. There’s noone else I can possibly be thinking of and you know why? Because I love you, Tina.”

Guess Tina was distracted during that particular bio class. Yes, the Red Canna, please. FYI, the male couterpart to yoni is lingham (Sanskrit or Hindi). Anthropologists have been using these terms to speak in a polite and scholarly way about depictions of genetalia for decades.
cute
James is a cutie. lol Hmm note to self: Getting pregnant can be a big pain in the ass. Oh and if B&TF is reading this…YONI!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA ;)
i’m reading, of course….anything that mentions yoni is worth reading LOL
