Alice pulled away from Dana and noticed that Dana wasn’t as happy as everyone else was, ” Baby what’s the matter? I thought you’d be screaming for joy like me”. Alice caught Dana steal a glance from Shane. Alice looked at Shane then back at Dana, ” What’s going on?”.

Shane pulled everyone else away from the couple and lightly squeezed Dana’s arm as she left.

Alice bent down a little to look straight into her girlfriend’s eyes, ” Talk to me Dana”.

Dana looked up and met her gaze, “let’s go home”.

The ride home was quiet, painfully quiet for Alice. She didn’t understand why Dana was so down especially if she got news about Wimbledon. Wimbledon was Dana’s dream, it has always been. So why was she acting like this? Alice wanted to ask her but every time she looked at Dana she looked deep in thought and Alice figured she should give her time to think of what to say.

Once they got inside Alice walked Dana into the living room to sit on the couch, ” Ok Dane, talk”.

Dana took Alice’s hand into her own and bit her lip, ” do we have to talk now?”

Alice put her finger under Dana’s chin and raised it so Dana was looking at her, ” Baby, whatever it is, we can figure this out”.

Dana’s eyes began to water as she pulled Alice into a hug, ” You promise Alice? Promise me we can fix this because I don’t know what to do. I want to make you so happy and proud of me Al,” her cried became harder sobs as she spoke, ” Please Al, I love you so much Alice, I want to give you so much in life, I never want to leave you again, never” she held onto Alice as tight as she could fearing she would just slip through her hands.

Alice was terrified, she had never seen Dana like this before, ” Baby, Baby, listen to me. We can fix whatever it is that needs to be fixed, I promise”.
