If You Never Say Anything to Me

    Chapter 8

When I got into the office I was ready to work. I was ready to discuss all the intimate and intricate details of my life. Tina was hot. Her beauty was not something you would see in a magazine but her lithe body was obviously cared for, her blond hair casually done but the cut probably cost a fortune and her clothes also casual but so perfect on her body. She had a little southern accent and a smile that could probably calm you before they put that final needle in your arm. She seemed surprised when I said we should start working. I guess since I’ve been so obstinate for so long, it would be surprising. Damn, my mind was all over the place.

“You’ve been coming here for awhile but I don’t know anything about you. Can we start with some background info?” She asked me. Her quiet soft voice could probably have made me agree to anything.

“Well Dr. Kennard, how far should I go back?”

“Please call me Tina. Go back as far as you like. Anything you feel may be of significance.” Hell that could be the day I was born. My mother was white and my father was black. That surely didn’t make for the easiest childhood. I can imagine that probably had something to do with the person I’ve become but doesn’t everyone blame their parents for them being fucked up? I guess I could let that pass.

“I’m 33 and have been a police officer for 7 years. I’m from Chicago. I have an older half sister. I have a couple college degrees. Is this the stuff you want to know?” I wasn’t really sure how this therapy stuff worked. It wasn’t that I probably haven’t needed therapy forever, I just had never been in therapy.

“Would it be easier if I asked questions?” she asked and I thought yes but wasn’t sure if I liked that idea. Her asking questions allowed her to lead where we went. That would mean I had to give up control and I didn’t do that well. Well, I could always refuse to answer any question I didn’t like so I nodded my head in the affirmative that I would rather go that route.

    1. Glad Bette finally opened up though she obviously has her trademark control issue to deal with. Hope she’ll muster the guts to call Tina’s service number. I still don’t know how they’ll hook up without violating any ethical standards. Thanks for the rapid-fire posting, NAG! Have a great week… :>

    2. Loving the frequent posts because your story is simply wonderful! Tina is getting herself in deep ethically. She needs to transfer Bette’s case if she is having feelings for her – even if she doesn’t pursue a relationship. I hope she realizes this. Maybe the universe will intervene and the two will see each other at a local bar over the weekend. I hope you are able to post soon. I feel withdrawal set in almost as soon as I read the last line of your postings! By the way, I really like the font on this chapter.

    3. So, Bette’s talking to Tina because she wants to get to know her…better. Tina wants to refer her to another Dr. so she CAN get to know Bette better. What an interesting dilemma and one I’m sure you’ll treat us to in future chapters. Love your stuff NAG!

    4. This was a lovely surprise to wake up to…and without having to strong arm you! LOL! :D What an enjoyable read with my coffee! Um…I never know what you’re going to do next with a story…so I am anxious for another post tho! (Hint) And it appears your other readers were quite happy with the multiple postings yesterday! :P So, uh, make us happy again…can we get another one today? Puh-leeze! I’ll rock G to sleep for you…heheh…

    5. Hi there… well i just read all 8 chapters… and let me say first i wish they never ended… so happy she is finally opening up and talking… love the relationship tina has with shane… and alice is alice… i loved the way shane was willing to “BREAK” tina in… i also wonder if they all know each other… i have to think alice knows shane… every one knows shane… and since tina did’t say bette’s name… i have a feeling they all know each other… so when is shane taking tina out again… this way bette and tina will meet… loving this story… you have 2 winners going on… love both of your stories… PPS

    6. Holy cow, bette really did talk! i was wondering if she was going grunt yes or no to tina’s questions… the very fact that she gave up control by allowing tina to lead the session was a big step, police always have to be in control or quickly gain control. was wondering if bette is thinking about doing something in the art field going back to painting and showing her work, or even teaching since she has a masters for it….i’m with amanda somehow i think they are all know each and tina will figure this out if she goes out more with shane. update when you have time… no rushing from me! :)

    7. Love it, love it, love it.Happy Bette has decided to open up to Tina and start trying to work out her feelings.for both work and Tina. This going to be great to see their new relationship develop. Thanks again for all the posts, it was wonderful to finish one chapter only to discover another one had been posted. That was great. Enjoyrd them all. The fonts and spacing have been great don’t know what anyone’s problems are. Have a great Monday and kiss the little guy. Post when you can.
