If it is meant to be…Chapter 76

As Tina watched Bette now, she saw no sign of that need to flee in her body language…no sign that she ached to be somewhere else. As Tina watched Bette now, she could see that every part of Bette wanted to be just where she was…here in this gallery…in New York. This realization hit Tina…and hit her hard. How can I possibly take her away from this? Tina felt her world slowly curling in on itself. How can I possibly ask her to leave this all behind? And, at that moment, Tina knew that she wouldnt…she couldnt possibly ask Bette to leave her very full and happy life, to live with her in a city that held no allure for Bette, other than the fact that Tina lived there.

Alice sensing a change in Tina looked over and saw the look of dread on her face. Tina…hey, whats wrong?

Tinas eyes filled with tears. Her throat was still tight, and she didnt want to talk to anyone about the decision that just hit her full force. Nothing…really. Hey, why dont you go talk to Susan. Im just going to go to the bathroom. Ill be back in a minute.

Alices brow furrowed. Tina? Are you sure? You look like you just saw a ghost.

Tina shook her head and tried her best to smile, though she could feel her heart breaking. No, honest…Im fine. My stomach is just a little upset from the rich food. Ill be back. She turned immediately and started walking back…knowing that rather than going towards the restrooms, she was heading to Bettes office, where she knew it would be quiet, and would give her the privacy she needed to let go of the tears she was fiercely fighting.

Susan had been watching her sister talking to Alice, wanting to go join them, but also not wanting to interrupt. She knew it had been years since they had seen each other. But, when she saw Tinas face go white, and watched her body become rigid, she started walking over to see what was wrong. By the time she reached Alice, Tina was gone.

    Uh…hi..are you Alice?

    Uh…yeah…you must be Susan.

Susan smiled at how shy they both seemed to be. Two strong, independent smart asses, and all we can manage is some stuttering and short sentences. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind. Is Tina Ok? She didnt look very happy.

    3. I really want Tina and Bette to be together. I agree that they need to talk to each other about their fears. That is the only way to move past them. I am a native of NYC. My wife & I met in NYC. I lived in the Bronx. Believe me if Tina & the children decide to move there they will have fun. Write soon

    4. “The course of true love never does run smooth.” These two will work it out, and we’ll enjoy reading all about how. Keep the faith, T. Keep writing, Sea.

    7. Please, Please, Please let to two beautiful women learn from past mistakes and remember to talk to one another. Don’t let fear dictate their life. There should be someway for them to be able to live with one another.

    8. I want to echo bvhall and move everyone to New York for now. Seattle is great but they all need to excitement of Bette’s city. Glad you had time in your adventure to write for us, you are such a favorite.

    9. Darlin’, if this is ‘pablum,’ BRING IT–I want another helping! Loving this chapter, even though it’s got me all tied up in agitated knots! Thanks so much for posting!

    10. seahurst, have missed your story, this is so much better than the new season. Been really dissapointed with the angle they are taking, but thats TV need good ratings right? keep posting and thanks for taking the time.

    11. First: I liked your previous “stand alone-jumbling-thought” chapter. Jumble on girl!

I agree completely – sometimes we need an escape route from what is going on in our world. You can make me wet anytime – with that bucket of mush of course!
You might be proud to be a pabulum type of writer but I have to disappoint you Sea – your writing is everything but simplistic and your ideas are not unimaginative.
As for your distraction syndrome: avoid all shellfish, mollusks, seahorses and marine animals from now till the next chapter – think creatures with 4 legs or wings (like burgers and hot-dogs)

    12. Be Very Proud! I am always happy to read your simplistic and *very* imaginative ideas about Tina and Bette. Another excellent chapter, as always. Thanks for writing!

    13. Yay…she’s back and with another great chapter. I know you will guide B and T through the turbulent waters safely. I agree with others, maybe NY should be the place for them for a while. Any way no matter where you take us/them I am along for the ride! I think the “mush” is what is needed now so thanks!

    14. “The one thing we can never get enough of is love.
And the one thing we never give enough is love.”
      Henry Miller, American Author

Seahurst, your stories, are an example of how much we enjoy reading about love…the B&T kind. Keep writing and let’s not worry about all the negativity that seems to occur on this site once in awhile…peace.

    15. ah Tina wakes up???!!!!Once again, Bette has been turning herself inside out (e.g. horrible job at CAC) to meet T’s needs…what about Bette’s creative needs??? Tina has vested hers in her children, Art and Artists are Bette’s children…jmho
