How Many Times Do I Have To Say I’m Sorry ch.2

    Have you been sleeping?

    A little, why?

Any visitors? Tina tried to sneak the question in.

No, why? Bette answered. She getting a little annoyed that Tina is ignoring her question.

You could have you know? I wouldve never have known. This place already smells like dirty ***** anyway. I wouldnt know, except for the look in your eyes. She admits the last part quietly hoping the Bette would finally see that what she is doing is tearing her apart.

    What about them?

They never lie. Even when you are. Like when you told me you hire the girl for her qualifications, or you two had to work late, when you came home all freshly showered. I knew even when you swore to me. I know because your eyes told me. Tinas voice is cracking with emotion again. Its a mixture or pain, heartbreak, and anger.

So, why didnt you say anything to stop it or tell me you knew? She asks trying to turn the tables on Tina again. She knows that she is the guilty party for her infidelity, but she refuses to take the full responsibility for the demise of their marriage.

Because the vows we swore to told me to believe the opposite. Even when my soul said that you fucked her, I couldnt bring to believe it or stop it. I was hoping maybe you would see what you were doing and end it. I was wrong. She finally loses the battle to keep her emotions totally in check. She dropped her head in her hands in silently sobbed.

Bette wanted so much to take back what she said and rescue Tina from the heartbreak she caused her again. But she believed in her heart that it would just land them right back where they started.
So I was wrong and you kicked me out. You let me back in and I left. Theres nothing left to save. I destroyed your trust Tina, so why are you here?

To help you see. There is no bad guy here. This isnt a mistake that cant be fixed. True love always wins out. You said that. Tinas head is spinning. She cant believe that this is the same woman that she fell for, the same one who got down on one knee to propose, and the same creature that held her hand during the delivery of their child. She hoped that her little throwback bring that woman back.

Bette did recognize what Tina was doing and decided not to completely break her down. I remember. The first night we made love. Pretty cheesy, huh?

Yeah, well you were good at that. Tina smiles, despite her cheeks being tear-stained and her eyes blood shot.

Indeed. Bette chuckles despite herself. Tina sees that as an opening.

So, where do you want to start? She asks completely hopeful that her wife wants to work it out.

Bettes demeanor changes and she switches to the hard as that she knows she has to be to get this over with. She straightens her posture and becomes her all business, looking Tina straight in the eyes.
    I dont.
