    Baby steps to serenity…Bette and Tina talk….kind of (READ AUTHOR’S NOTE PLEASE)

    Alice: “Well, did you tell Tina that?”

    Bette: “No, I hadn’t really put it all into perspective when she found out. I really never thought about the consequences….I never thought it would come to this, but even if I had she wouldn’t have listened. *****, I can’t blame her. I’ve just completely wrecked everything.”

    Alice: “This is going to sound stupid, but do you still love her?”

    Bette: “With every fiber of my being. Without a doubt. I never stopped loving her and that’s the really fucked up part….I’ve always loved her and I always will…but everything just happened so fast….I didn’t even think of her when it was all happening it was like I was living a totally different life in which she didn’t exist…and I hate myself everyday for what I’ve done.”

    On the other side of the door Tina stood listening to the conversation between Bette and Alice. As Bette made her heartfelt confession, warm, bittersweet tears fell down Tina’s face. A weight was lifted from her chest to know Bette still loved her, yet she was saddened by the fact that no amount of love would change what happened and as much love as they shared, she didn’t know if it was enough to keep them together.

    Alice: “Well, I’m sorry, but I don’t have any answers. I know Tina still loves you, but I just think maybe she needs some time to sort everything out for herself.”

    Bette: “I know, Kit said the same thing. I’m really trying to respect that, but it’s just hard you know. I don’t know where she is or if she’s ok….but no matter what her well-being is my main concern. I guess I need to go…Alice…thank you for not turning me away. I know it must be difficult to remain friend’s with both of us, but I’m glad I have you and I love you.”

    Alice hugs Bette again, “Your welcome and I love you, too.”

    Bette: “If you talk to Tina, will you tell her to take care of herself? You don’t have to tell her I said so, but if you will just make sure she’s ok and has whatever she needs. If I can’t be there for her it helps to know she’s got somebody looking out for her.”

    2. Ahhh *grabs chest* soo bittersweet!! Excellent chapter, cole! I think I have an idea who your mystery character is…guess I’ll have to wait and see to find out!

    3. First I must say that Nanc cracked me up with the comment about Betty. shit…now I will tell you that my heart actually hurt with that chapter. Please give us more…whatever you have we can take it.

    4. Too bad the ending of S1 and begining of S2 didn’t start this way. It wasn’t alot, but enough so the each knew it wasn’t a question of love, or caring, that in fact sometimes even in the best of relationships, shit happens, how you deal with it truly says a great deal about how strong it really was. Glad that Alice talked with Bette. So glad Tina called. hopefully you get our two girls back together without all the drama and B.S. of S2. So far I’m enjoying this twist even if the situation is sad.

    6. That is so sad. Happy that Bette talk to Alice and that Tina was listening. That she called Bette. Shit does happen. You go with the flow,and hope for the best to come from it./All I know is Bette got chewed up spit our and walked all over in S2. Better person than I,to take so much. Thanks

    7. i agree with coop if the season 2 was started like this a lot pain could ve been spared..i hope they talk and try to work things out baby steps im glad Tina made let Bette know she is still love her..another amazing chapter ohh and i hope the new person dosent mess up even more..lol..thanks Cole :o)
