    Baby steps to serenity…Bette and Tina talk….kind of (READ AUTHOR’S NOTE PLEASE)

    Tina had to stifle a laugh, Alice just rolled her eyes and grabbed the pizza box. Dana picked through the stack, “OOH, this is perfect. I haven’t seen this in so long. I can’t believe you even have this, Shane.”

    Tina: “What is it?”

    Dana: “Ok, you guys, don’t laugh…The Incredibly true adventures if two girls in love….”

    Tina: “Oh my God! That’s so funny….it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it, too. Pop it in.”

    Dana turns the dvd player on as the doorbell rings. Everyone looks at Alice.

    Shane: “Who are we missing?”

    Alice shrugs and gets up to go answer the door. She looks through the peephole and steps back, looking at Tina, she whispers, “*****! Tina, it’s Bette.”

     

     

    Chapter 4

    Tina calmly gets off the sofa and walks down the hallway towards Alice, “I don’t know how she found out I was here, but I don’t want to talk to her.” Alice gives her a look of understanding and Tina continues on into the bedroom shutting the door behind her. With Tina well out of sight, Alice slowly opens the door.

    “Hey Bette, what brings you to this side of town?” Alice asks trying to act casual.

    Bette peaks inside the apartment and notices Shane and Dana sharing the remnants of their pizza, “Oh, nothing, listen I’m sorry for dropping by I didn’t know you had company. I just wanted to talk to someone.” Alice can see the hurt in Bette’s tired eyes. She wishes she could comfort her old friend, but she is torn between Bette and Tina. Even though she is completely understanding of Tina’s wishes, she just can’t turn Bette away, they’ve been friends too long, “It’s no problem, why don’t you come in and join us?”

    Bette shakes her head, “No, no I can’t really stay I’m supposed to meet Kit in a bit. Um….do you think you could step out here for just a minute….I uh I just….I’m not really feeling like talking with everyone.” She gestures towards Shane and Dana. Alice gets the hint and is thankful Bette doesn’t plan on staying.

    Alice: “Uh yeah,” She walks out into the hall of the apartment complex and closes the door behind her, “Is everything Ok?” Alice knows it’s not, but she doesn’t want to give Bette the impression that she knows more than she does.

    2. Ahhh *grabs chest* soo bittersweet!! Excellent chapter, cole! I think I have an idea who your mystery character is…guess I’ll have to wait and see to find out!

    3. First I must say that Nanc cracked me up with the comment about Betty. shit…now I will tell you that my heart actually hurt with that chapter. Please give us more…whatever you have we can take it.

    4. Too bad the ending of S1 and begining of S2 didn’t start this way. It wasn’t alot, but enough so the each knew it wasn’t a question of love, or caring, that in fact sometimes even in the best of relationships, shit happens, how you deal with it truly says a great deal about how strong it really was. Glad that Alice talked with Bette. So glad Tina called. hopefully you get our two girls back together without all the drama and B.S. of S2. So far I’m enjoying this twist even if the situation is sad.

    6. That is so sad. Happy that Bette talk to Alice and that Tina was listening. That she called Bette. Shit does happen. You go with the flow,and hope for the best to come from it./All I know is Bette got chewed up spit our and walked all over in S2. Better person than I,to take so much. Thanks

    7. i agree with coop if the season 2 was started like this a lot pain could ve been spared..i hope they talk and try to work things out baby steps im glad Tina made let Bette know she is still love her..another amazing chapter ohh and i hope the new person dosent mess up even more..lol..thanks Cole :o)
