Heaven Can Wait – Episode 18: With Or Without You
U2 – With Or Without You
_____________________________
She hated leaving. She hated every step out of the apartment. She hated starting her car. She hated leaving her behind like that. Now, she’s beginning to hate herself. Her only redeeming factor she feels is that she’s being there for two women she feels loyal to. Dana and Alice, who must certainly be wondering why she hasn’t arrived yet. But Lara is on her way as Carmen is left behind. As she drives towards Dana’s house, Lara’s loyalty begins to clash more than ever with her emotions.
She steps out of her apartment. Tonight, she means business. Tonight, she wants it all out of her head. The makeup has been applied. The short dress is on and her smile to the mirror is enough to convince those only looking out for a good time. Carmen prepares for her evening, knowing that if she stays inside she’ll only think about the conversation with Lara…long with what Lara’s on her way to doing.
She’s headed down to the club, ready to enjoy life and get back into a groove she fears she’s on the verge of losing. Tonight, she means business. Tonight, she wants Carmen out of her head. The clothes are tight, the confident smirk and cool attitude begin to form. Shane prepares for her evening, ready to medicate her sickness with a dose of lust from some lucky girl.
Lara pulls into the driveway and parks her car. Leaning her head against the steering wheel, a temptation flares through her to leave everyone and everything. This is almost too much for her to take.
Almost.
Lara takes a deep breath and undoes her seatbelt. She exits the car and walks up to the front door, with Alice and Dana waiting inside. Let the games begin.
She holds her with a mixture of love and lust. For Alice and Dana both, they share a patience for Lara. She should be here any second. And just like that, there she is. Alice and Dana stand from their couch and share in a group embrace with Lara. Let the games begin.
She holds her with solace and love lost. The table remains overturned in the kitchen as Bette has helped Tina to Bette’s bed. Once upon a time, this might have led to a great night of sex. That, however was then. The reality of now is a much different and more sorrowful manner. All they can do now is clutch one another as the fear of letting go for good begins to overtake them…as Bette tries to keep Canada out of her mind.

WOW! Ya made me feel bad for everyone (except for Tina). Really moving chap., the song worked perfectly. Great stuff.
Bette & Tina are tearing me apart. My heart can’t take too much more.
that was amazing
wow that was emotional, great stuff kace.
All I can say is WOW!!
That was totally gut-wrenching… in a good way. I liked the lyrics intertwining with the individual scenes. Very visual effect, that. Welp, at least Angus and Kit and Max are sleeping well tonight. Lara has *got* to get herself out of that messed-up triangle. Bette and Tina seem done and dusted. I’m guessing Leigh might not prove to be enough of a distraction for Helena… she’ll be making her move soonish? Unless Winnie has something to say about it? And… you’ve done it. I finally have some sympathy for Carmen. Post when you can.
OK, finally the Lara/Dana/Alice tension is broken, phew, but ugh, Lara is awfully passive in this equation, which can’t bode nicely for her well-being. Maybe she and Carmen are two lonely hearts longing for companionship? I just hope they’d have more than angsty drama to base things on-not that there’s anything wrong with drama, lol…How long to Alice and Dana think this three-way can really go on? I enjoyed how you interwove the scenes this time with music. Love it, keep updating when you can, it’s feeding my fic crack habit…
as always…great job… can’t wait for more… :)
