"So, um, T? How do you wanna handle this? I’ll follow your lead."
"My lead? Really?", Tina asked. Not believing her ears. "Yeah. It’s this new thing I’m trying", Bette winked.
Tina smiled as her heart swelled. This was a huge step that Bette was taking. The control freak handing over the reins.
"I don’t know. Why don’t we just sleep on it" she said as she gently moved to kiss Bette. Bette rolled to her side, facing Tina and enjoying the kiss. Tina pulled her close so that their bodies had full contact. Breast to breast, hip to hip, and so on and so on. As they began massaging each other they both knew there would be no ‘sleeping on’ anything in the immediate future.
Chapter 8.
Bette and Tina enjoyed their remaining days of clandestine freedom as much as they could in between the obligations of their careers and pesky habits like eating and sleeping. Tina had decided, and Bette had agreed, that they should gather the gang at The Planet and make a celebration of it.
The day had arrived for the big reveal. This evening the lovers shared a long slow shower as Angie slept. Tina had Bette against the wall as the hot water danced on her breasts and was assaulting her in ways that Bette thoroughly enjoyed. Bette announced the peak of her arousal with loud high-pitched grunts as Tina smiled at her accomplishment.
A short time later they were toweling each other off and listening intently for the doorbell. They were expecting Angus within the hour, and became painfully aware that they had fallen behind schedule.
They hurriedly fixed their hair, applied their makeup, and dressed as they attempted to not be late for their big announcement.
While Tina was sitting on the bed putting on her shoes, Bette called out from the bathroom, "T, can you get my watch from the box on the dresser? You know the one." "Kay, babe", Tina answered, knowing the watch she meant. It was 18k white gold, and looked fantastic against her mocha skin. While she was sorting through the various earrings and bracelets, she came across a familiar piece of jewelry tucked down in the corner. She slowly lifted it out and studied it. Bette’s commitment ring. She held it in her open hand and admired it. She smiled as she remembered the day she put it on Bette’s finger, and lost her smile just as quickly as she remembered the first time she noticed it absent from Bette’s hand. Bette, wondering what was taking so long, silently slipped up to Tina and watched the range of emotions play on her face. "T?",Bette asked softly. Shaken from her recollections, Tina looked up embarrassed, feeling as though she had been caught snooping. "I’m sorry. I just…", she looked from the ring to Bette with watering eyes. "Tina. No tears. We’re going to have fun tonight. Ok?" Tina nodded, trying to smile. Bette gently picked up the ring from Tina’s palm and looked at it borrowing the memories that Tina had just moments ago recalled. She slowly placed the ring back in the box and fished out her watch. "T. Can you help me with this?" It was an obvious excuse to get her mind off the ring and Tina knew it. Bette was more than capable of putting on a watch, but she appreciated the gesture and obliged. "Thanks T", Bette said, clasping her hand. "Are we ready?"

Wow, Faye Buckley, I was expecting the usual Candace. This should be interesting.
What is Faye Buckleydoing at The Planet? How does she even know that place exists? Well, that has so much Drama Queen potential, it’s scary. Not exactly what B&T need at the moment when they’re really trying to make things work. Bette is so adorable asking Shane to keep an eye out for her. Is Tina going to ask Bette to wear her ring again? Maybe she’ll give Bette a new ring as proof of her re-commitment. Award or no award, your story is still captivating. Thanks for posting.

Nothing like an unexpected dose of über bitch to put the kibosh on a good night out. Other than the unwelcome appearance of that cow Buckley, this was a great chapter, red. Loved the group interaction (Dana is still a miss), and it’s a good thing Bette’s let in Shane on the fact that sometimes a swift kick to the fabulous Porter derrière is a necessity. Hard lines on not getting an award, but your writing’s a winner in my book. Thanks for the post, and more soon, please.
Great story and update. But is Faye “effing” Buckely not dead in your story? Oh my gosh, we really don’t need her right about now. Mercy. Get rid of her please before she causes huge problems. I was so happy when somebody shot her last year or was it 2005. Whenever, I thought she was gone for good. Anyway, love the story and the great big plus is that you have “our girls” back together. PPS

“I won’t, Shane. I promise”, Bette paused. Then somberly realizing it sounded very Bette Porter indeed, said, “But if I do, then you’ll know I’m in trouble and that’s when I’ll need you the most. ” Great…Great..>Very wise! And Faye? Fuck! Wow!:)
From the divine Amy Winehouse, to that appalling Bloody Brain drink, to the even more appalling Faye Buckley, this chapter has it all! And it WAS great fun to read, especially the Alice-gets-punked bits. The evil Ms. Buckley is as rare as the dodo bird on this site, so I can’t wait to see what you do with her. Incidentally, for all the good it did her Lindsay Lohan should have said no no no to rehab just like Amy did.
OMFG!! Faye Buckley? What the hell is she doing there? Looking for her next victim to insult and abuse? If I were her, I’d RUN! The only reason Bettte didn’t put the “smack down” on Faye last time, was because they were on TV. But the camera’s not rolling now, BIIATCH!! Let the games BEGIN!!!LOL!
